Not sure we deserved to lose there but terrible decisions around both boxes have cost us big time. We fucking need to tighten up or we’ll never fucking win away again. Pope needs dropped now, I’m afraid. And I’ve defended him in the past but he’s costing us points regularly

Totally unnecessary loss. Lack of energy and sloppy passing costing us again.

Gordon has absolutely no right to start games at the moment. Thiaw the only player maintaining a solid standard.

Ah well, honestly not that poor a result to lose by the odd goal to these away from home. Not a massive surprise after the ridiculous effort that went into Saturday nights game.

On to the weekend and hopefully we can sort out our PL away form. If you're lumping an away CL tie in and moaning about ANOTHER away defeat, you're being a bit of a bellwhiff.

No point playing Gordon CF. He offers nothing.

It is painful watching a game when we look like the better team who are playing so shit that you know we are going to and deserve to lose.

I get Woltemade may need a break but try Barnes up top.

Did they deserve it? Hmmm maybe.

I'm not sure what Howe can do with only just getting Hall and Tino back and no Krafth and Trips. We needed rotation. Imo I would have had a thiaw at RB and played Schar and Burn and Hall / Tino LB.

Willock played well and I'm pleased with that.

I was hoping for a point before the start. We need back to back Prem wins tbh. Anything is a bonus in the UCL

I don't think the performance lacked, we just didn't have the final ball and went down to a howler. Willock could have had a couple of goals but if he didn't have bad luck, he'd have no luck at all. Definitely need someone who can poach goals. Wissa may be that but he may have retired before we get to use him.

Yep Pope needs dropping but we still aren't getting it right in terms of finding the plays and taking our chances which is also costing us. We seem to have literally no control over the game at all, we never seem to just have it in possession and stroking it around.

Yet here we have people questioning the choice to play him against these.

What, halfway through the match when it's apparent he could have done with a rest?

People have got a right to have a bit of a moan, we took the lead in all of our last three away matches and lost them all.

Tonight was a lot better than West Ham and Brentford though.

I’ve been his biggest supporter because he’s a great goalkeeper, but Pope let them back into the game and needs dropping. No shame, it’s a mistake but we have another goalkeeper who is at least his equal.

Dan Burn is a hero and has been great for us since he signed, but he isn’t good enough on the ball.

We also struggled without a focal point of a forward, Gordon worked hard and put the yards in but isn’t a centre forward. We need another one in January, despite Wissa coming back.

Dont think we were bad here tonight, without that first aberration we might win that game.

We definitely need to be looking at another proven striker in January. The inability to finish is costing us big time.

i get the sentiment to lose by the odd goal to what is a very good side is nothing to be ashamed of, but it’s the manner of it. We came out after half time expecting them to be the same as they were before the break. Naivety of the highest order

Problem is once you make that decision, not something you "go back on". Picking Ramsdale ahead of him in the premier league is a statement & he has to be sure Ramsdale is going to improve us all round.

I think he does but Eddie doesn't seem ready to make that call. He's made 4 + glaring goal conceding errors this season. Not sure what more he has to do, to spend some time out of the first team.

Thiaw has been our best centre half recently, there’s no way we should be moving him out of centre half.

Dropping Pope can be a start. Build from the back. We are lacking all over, yes, so let's just address what we can address in the short term. Not the worst performance overall but exposed a lot of our issues. Back to the league again now and a chance to keep climbing on the domestic front.

Strangely not feeling too awful about tonight. Hope all of our lot get home safe and sound without any more incidents.

This is it, like. Simple passes look like difficult ones to some of our lads. And don’t get me started on our set pieces. We have to be up there with the worst in Europe at attacking the fuckers. Especially considering it’s land of the giants at times

A lot of common sense here, particularly regarding Burn who I think does get off lightly at times on account of him being the local hero. He isn’t great with the ball at his feet and at times we should be prioritising other CBs.

Dunno what the fuck is going on with Gordon but he looks terrified to go in where it’s a 50:50. Can’t afford him to step off challenges like he is.

I do think we’ll have a striker in January as I think Osula to Frankfurt will be back on. A case where Eddie needs to get over his phobia of loans

If Osula moves out we probably need two. That sounds depressingly familiar.

We came out after half time and Pope gifted them a goal, that lifted them more than any tactical out-foxing. We created more than them even when we were sloppy as fuck (Bruno/Sandro I'm looking at you).

On the bright side Miley did well as an emergency right back, that could be helpfull.
