My dad was saying he saw CT walking round the estate this morning, chewing on his fingernails and muttering about "... the threat of Wilson Isidor..." and "Luke 'the wall' O'Nien". My dad tried to approach but he just got "DANIEL FUCKING BALLARD" screamed in his face.

Given the season they’ve had it’ll be a travesty if Sheff Utd don’t make it. Reminds me of the only season when we did take part in the playoffs though, be just like Sunderland to spawn it into the top league.
-
You can stick your derby up your arse sideways, fucking hated everything about it since 1979 and the cunt Rowell hat-trick, felt a bit rough in the morning but went anyway, got tonsillitis missed next game (beat Charlton 5-3 ffs). That said times have changed, they are turbo-shit and we're anything but.
-
We picked up 18 points from the promoted teams this season. They’re just not very good and I don’t see Sheffield United or Sunderland bucking the trend. Local rivalry or not
-
Final week at working in Broadmoor and I cannot wait to fuck off.
-
Maybe when you have the mindset that we won't pick up another point from the middle of April onwards. Your nerves must be completely shot.
-
Fuck that. We're at the stage where every match we have something to play for whoever its against. I don't need or want the stress of a derby with those troglodytes.
-
I’ll let this ride with you being new to football. But every Tyne Wear derby is nerve jangling. Derby’s can so often be a complete leveller regardless of who has the “better” team.

I don't blame the rule, just as much chance of a freak injury like that in any phase of play, players clatter posts fairly often, amazing there's not more bad ones tbh. Just one of those things sadly. -
I don't think you can blame that. Injuries happen in football matches, it's not the job of the linesman to prevent an impossible to foresee injury. There's hundreds of these no flag incidents across a season and the vast, vast majority end up fine. Unless the offside is blindingly obvious, I'm happy with them allowing play to proceed and checking it afterwards if there's a goal. There'll be WAY more attacks incorrectly halted than there would be serious injuries averted.

It’s not the lino’s fault because it’s the rules that play should be allowed to continue but it’s fucking ridiculous when someone is so clearly offside in the build up. You felt it was only a matter of time before a player got a serious injury in a situation like that -
Honestly, can the PGMOL get anything right? What a ridiculously incompetent fucking organisation

As I said in the other thread, they need to bin off this stupid version of the offside rule. It was so clearly offside yet they let the phase of play continue. It was only a matter of time before someone got seriously hurt in this phase of play, and so easily avoidable. -
Taiwo Awoniyi had been placed in an induced coma following his collision with the post on Sunday. They need to bin off this stupid offside rule where they don’t flag immediately. It was only a matter of time before a serious injury was sustained in this period of play. It was so easily avoidable. Get well soon, fella.

It’s not beyond possibility that the ribs have broken and punctured his lung! But that wouldn’t need abdominal surgery -
Going back to show the wife where you were stationed?

I think you might be disappointed on the nerve jangling front. They're no better than they were when we brushed them aside in the cup, and we have moved up a gear since then with more to come in the summer. Obviously weird results happen in football, especially derbies, but there's a bigger gap between us and them than there is between us and Real Madrid these days. Their best hope is they get us after an away midweek in the CL.

Broken ribs Poor lad, but he tried to play on the mad bastard. -
The idea of a sporting director or a DoF is that its meant to be a long term, continuity focussed job where you stay in position for a long time. Instead he fucked us off after 18 months and then lasted 5 months at man u. Its impossible to say that he did a good job at either because he wasn't around long enough to have done one, but by virtue of that I reckon its fair to say he did a bad job or a main facet of his position.

Yeah the whole point of this sort of job is to create long term football policy and procedures so that you don’t end up being like Man Utd with no long term vision ie sacking every useless bastard they appoint after 18 months and having to pay off all their staff but being lumbered with the eye wateringly expensive useless bastards that they’ve signed….

Never been so meh about Sunderland in my life. That said, I do really miss the derby games as they’ve previously been such a big part of my life as a Newcastle fan. As much as we have a few “rivalries” with other prem clubs, nothing compares to the build up and aftermath of a derby week, particularly having spent most of my life working in Sunderland. Naturally, I will find it quite amusing if they crash at Wembley, but the inner real football fan inside is hoping they get up and those two nerve jingling fixtures return.
-
It’s maybe fair to say he didn’t do enough to establish a body of work one way or another. But that in itself makes him seem like a bit of a fraud when he keeps taking a position that is in essence about the long term and doesn’t stay for long enough to be judged based on the tangible outcomes of his performance.
-
I don't think we'll ever know. The one truly excellent transfer window we had happened before he'd joined. If Minteh was his spot, then he helped get us out of a PSR hole, I guess.
