Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

Mad he’s learned all that so quickly. Almost like they tapped him up 18 month ago -
The parmo scene must have made quite an impact

On top of the distinctly average squad and, it seems, out of his depth manager, there's another intangible at play. No-one is going to be daunted to go and play them at OT anymore, teams now go looking to win as opposed to being half beaten before they get on the pitch.

Bollocks

That's what general rag opinion plus all the 'media' were saying after the previous season, but I was thinking 'hang on, look how many stuffy points they salvaged via flukes and the usual diabolical reffing decisions, they cant get higher' - unfortunately the bottom half bet for even those twats was too skinny at 7/1, so failed to take it. True, they probably cannot get lower this time but 1) we can hope, and 2) I don't see them finding salvation at the top end...

Boeing Boeing gone

I've seen worse today.

Nowt wrong with Rumours. Cracking album.
-
they're protesting against rumours at this stage

Yeah I know, I was there. Saw the Stranglers in 77 or 78, they were supported by Penetration, Stranglers were ok (apart from all the gobbing) but Penetration, fuck me, the very epitome of shite. Absolutely the worst I have ever seen and I've seen UFO with Paul Chapman so off his face he was in severe danger of getting his head kicked in by Pete Way, even that abortion was better.

Fucking hell thought that was in July

Sunderland: Eric Gates. Sebastian Larsson Stephane Sessegnon Michael Bridges Billy Hughes NUFC: Beardsley Gascoigne Ginola Waddle Ben Arfa Very hard to pick a combined five out of those two lists but I've had a go so don't all pile on at once, it's just a football opinion after all. NUFC and SAFC combined radio Newcastle most skillful players based on Gabbiadini and Howey's lists: Beardsley Gascoigne Ginola Waddle Ben Arfa Some tough decisions but these five just shade it. Didn't think it was going to be so hard tbh.
-
Could say the same about Benitez living on the Wirral.
-
Think that silly bollocks still lives in Yarm. It’s quite nice but surely you go back to fucking Valencia or somewhere?
-
Fair enough, but musical virtuosity was the opposite of what it was about. It was more "any fucker can do this, not just those cunts in Genesis'..
-
So Howey's top 5 skillful Newcastle players of all time end up being: 1st Beardsley 2nd Gascoigne 3rd Ginola 4th Waddle 5th Ben Arfa

Mendieta ... won the CL don't you know.

Agreed, it's a mess, but the environmentalists are ALWAYS going to complain when heritage greenland is at risk - irrespective of any land handback for green space. I saw suggestion that the current footprint of SJP be converted to a landscaped, maintained parkland entrance to the stadium which would make sense on many levels. I don't recall this lot getting quite so animated when the decision was made to pave over most of Eldon Square. Mind you, that didn't involve football.

I hate punk, am not going to call it music.

but is Viana a DM?

Leazes Park is, on the whole, a dump. There should be an improved public green space off the back of this hopefully. BTW, I spotted that group on facebook and loads of Mackems were saying it was a disgrace re: Leazes Park. So presumably they’re as genuinely passionate about wildlife and green spaces in Newcastle as they are about human rights on the Arabian peninsula

If you're complaining about the SP's musical ability you've sort of missed the point

We're British, we don't do knowledge. -
And the Sex Pistols could see, although listening to their musicianship that could be in doubt.

So you're telling me there's not a valid comparison to be made but if you personally were to compare them you prefer the Beach Boys? The Beatles didn't sound like the Stones, the Kinks, the BB's or anyone else tbh because after the first 3 albums the next 4 or 5 sounded completely different to one another ... the ramping up from rubber soul > revolver > Sgt Pepper is said the be the greatest progression in popular music. I think during that time the BB's only released Pet Sounds. You're right it doesn't sound like any of the Beatles record from round then. Am certainly not an expert on them but I don't think they altered their style too much if at all during the rest of the 60s? Not sure like, happy to be corrected on that.. suffice to say BB's and Beatles were very complimentary about each others' work..they and the others were definitely musical rivals.., https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/brian-wilson-two-favourite-albums-the-beatles/&ved=2ahUKEwig4I2O7OuNAxWdQEEAHaLdIOEQFnoECCYQAQ&sqi=2&usg=AOvVaw1S2NoQE0hUJSOfLvJ7qYuB
