Billy Davies leaves Forest & McLeish leaves Birmingham
Billy Castell replied to The Fish's topic in Newcastle Forum
I'd fucking piss myself if Rapey or Bruce followed Ferguson. You're probably right though, or they're hoping to get a 2nd string player on the cheap. I'd add Big Sam to that list myself. -
I just want Lewis to regain that ability to attack again. He's been making daft errors for a while now, trying too hard and so on. He has lost his concentration and focus, and probably lost his joy for racing with the pressure. If it means taking a year out then so be it. I think he won't be at McLaren all his career, but he won't go for a couple of years. Then we'll see a driver merry-go-round. The race was brilliant apart from the interval, and the rolling start. Shame Kobiyashi got caught out by Vettel every safety car. And wasn't there a story saying VW might make an engine a while ago?

Anyone else expecting Steve McClaren to do a press conference wearing tights and holding a longbow? It is all strange, I've never expected McClaren to go to a 1st division club, or McLeish to get linked to the Vile job after guiding Big Club to relegation. Again. -
Careful Now. This page leads me to think of this..............

True. I'd scale down the number of games in a tour, and even drop the 50 over game altogether from the international calander. Those 1 day games after The Ashes were a waste of time, as is the ICC Trophy and the World Cup. Mind you, I'm probably the last of the people who see 1 day cricket as the alternative. 20/20 is great fun, test matches can be absorbing and dramatic, but I've gone off the 50 over game.

Especially Malteasers. I wish they sold Super Lemon sweets in this country. I used to love them when I was a kid in Hong Kong. There used to be Super Cola/Apple and so on as well. None of the chinese shops seems to stock it, though they do stock Pocky though.

Other Clubs Transfer Talk 11/12
Billy Castell replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
Rumours are surfacing that the deal has stalled/broken down as Rovers refuse to complete the deal. There are concerns about how Man Utd knew exactly how much to bid to activate a clause that would allow them to talk with him. There are also issues about this £16m clause, and whether it merely allows Jones to talk to other clubs, or whether it automatically means he can leave if personal terms are agreed. Either way, Dalglish may come in with a £21m bid. -

Batman Begins. Not seen the Nolan/Bale films before, and I thought it was good. It was a welcome return to form after that utterly shit one with George Clooney. -
Indeed. It's not like she's gone on record admitting she's a complete slag is it? and that Giggs' clean image is all a con. I think Phil Jones is impatient for his big move because he wants a go on her as well.

2nd striker? I thought that described players like Zola, Bergkamp, Sheringham etc. rather than clueless oafs wandering round fields with a banjo. It is criminal he even got 1 cap, let alone over 50.

There is an issue of the lack of a plan B with regards to the economy. It seems that the cuts were made out of ideology based motives as much as any pure economic argument. Therefore the coalition have been blinkered and reject any slowing down or changes to the cuts they're pushing regardless of possible problems in the future. Now, I admit I am not claiming to be an economic genius, but if you make massive cuts in the public sector across the board, then people will lose their jobs. If they lose their jobs, they have to claim benefits and have less money to buy stuff and so on, and will be taking money from the government and not paying taxes etc. This will lead to more money being spent supporting the unemployed unless the benefit system is changed and fewer people qualify for benefits or get less money. The coalition is trying to change the benefits system, which will mean less money for the unemployed to spend on consumer goods etc. which may affect economic growth. Those who still have a job, abheit a low wage job, will find their security weakened by the fact there are more people wanting to take their job if possible, and will be pressured to work longer hours, not ask for a pay rise and so on. Therefore they will not feel secure in purchasing goods and services that would keep a service based economy growing steadily. This puts the ounus on the middle classes to keep things ticking over. However, there are probably a number of middle management types who are probably being sacked, or having their contracts changed to make their work more 'efficient' and other such terms that mean they'll have to do 3 people's jobs for similar money. Some of these middle class people will have children coming up to university age, and they'll feel obliged to help their children financially now the fees have gone through the roof. These factors will impact on their spending power over the next few years, as will any increase in interest rates. All this at a time when inflation is being fuelled by soaring oil and fuel prices makes for a potentially horrible situation.

People who take 5-a-side way to seriously!
Billy Castell replied to ajax_andy's topic in General Chat
Yep, he is absolutely hated, as he is shit. I'd not be one of these, but there are a number that boo him whenever he plays. And to top it off he was signed by Paul Ince. He only plays OK/well for Ireland, but is usually dire for Blackburn. As for the 5 a side, I've never played one, which is lucky as I think I'd be the Keith Andrews of the game. I have no stamina at all when I have to run, and the footballing skills of Steven Hawking. I would probably get red cards for sheer clumsiness when 'tackling' rather than any maliciousness. -
That's all the brothers want-to hang out with stars (and Diouf), hence all those Ronaldinho stories in Januray. Honestly, the Rao family have turned the club into the leagues' joke club. Man City used to be the club, then it was Newcastle for a bit, since Ashley took over, but now we've taken the crown as the club everyone looks at and says "hahahaha look at those clowns." We're currently trying to screw Man Utd for more money over Jones. Basically, it seems that the owners think he was tapped up by Fergie, and are stalling because 1. They want to find out who told him about the £16m release clause and 2. They're in the mood to report Man Utd if they don't pay the extra money. It is an odd one.

Different kind of players, but Man Utd got the better deal today.

Oliver Holt is a Grade A twathole of the highest order. He was accusing Blackburn Rovers and everyone associated with them of being a bunch of racists when Ince was saced. Never mind that he took a team that finished 7th, to 20th in a few months, signed his mate Robbie Fowler for no reason, spent more time on the golf course than fulfilling contractual obligations in earning his coaching badges and instilled a very outdated drinking culture with slack training. No, he should have stayed because he is black, and sacking him was the work of a KKK wannabe. He made these unfounded slurs repeatedly at the time, forgetting that Blcakburn hired Ince as well. I despise that so-called journalist so much.

Yanks sack Cheryl Cole, they cant understand her.
Billy Castell replied to Dafydd's topic in General Chat
As opposed to a scouse girl? It would be like getting a dirty phonecall off Gordon the Gopher. Look at that Jennifer Ellison, she was nice looking and all that, but as soon as she opened her mouth it was like Emlyn Hughes being bummed by a car-sized mosquito. Sorry Dafydd, but you're just wrong on the accent thing in general, but the thought of Cheryl Cole asking someone to 'wank on me stotties' on Babestation is funny. -
Shame that shithouse is so terrible at club level. He's only even competent for Ireland.
-
Get down the bookies and put money on Blackburn being relegated. Both their best defenders will be sold this summer (P. Jones and Samba will follow), a totally incompitent set of mongs running the place and the leagues' shittest manager in the safest job in football.

Other Clubs Transfer Talk 11/12
Billy Castell replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
Yep. He's primarily a centre back, but is equally adept at playing a defensive Essien kind of role. He is quality, and will really go far. The fact he's a youth player sold at such a young age makes it worse. And Samba has been wanting to leave for at least a year. -
Other Clubs Transfer Talk 11/12
Billy Castell replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
Bargain. He's going to be absolutely brilliant, injuries allowing. I mean John Terry/Rio Ferdinand good. And like Shearer and Duff everyone will blank out where they started/won anything. Now watch us buy fucking shit like Bramble, Santa Cruz and probably Alan Smith. Basically, get down the bookies and put £20 on us being relegated, especially if/when Samba goes too. This must be why brfcs.com is broken. It's probably had the internet equivilent of a nervous breakdown, and is sitting in a bus station in its pants drinking white lightening and wailing incoheirently. -
He almost was, when he was managing Blackburn. The story goes that he and the Taffia wanted to leave because the Walker Trust were starving him of money, and wouldn't let him sign Liassa Diarra who went to Portsmouth. However, you were not allowed permission to negotiate with him by the Trust. I think this was when TheBigSam was hired by Newcastle, or fired.

Sven great again? Back for England?
Billy Castell replied to Irrelevant Nick KP's topic in Newcastle Forum
Sven???!!! Sod off with that idea. Too expensive, about as loyal as a cat, and has become a journeyman manager picking up short term jobs for big wages. I'm not one for only having English managers, especially since there are none good enough. Pearce is simply not up to it, Redknapp cannot do his wheeler dealer tricks with the squad and will walk out and leave the FA somehow bankrupt, and then there's Big Sam........... There are only 3 names off the top of my head who'd do better than Capello with the current players-Hiddink, Mourinho or Loew. That's not to say that Capello has been brilliant. We need to stop cunting about, get that Burton Academy thing built, tighten up the coaching badges so you can't just walk into a managerial/Assistant job as soon as you state your intentions to coach. -
Yup, both clubs currently have puppet managers as far as I can tell. Rapey has done reasonably well at continuing Hughton's good work so far. Kean looks totally out of his depth, if Samba and/or Jones go I'd be very worried for Blakcburn who are a club I've always admired. We can cope with one going, since we have Givet and Nelsen, but both would fuck us up completely. It would be like losing Shearer and Ferdinand for you in the mid to late 1990's, and then expecting them to be replaced with Ostenstadt and Brian Deane. And I think Kean could be in prison for running a child pornography ring that specialised in snuff movies and still be in charge at Ewood Park. The Venky's clowns love him. Especially Mrs. Desai, the 'brains' of the group.
