OK, I'll bite. Sam got sacked at Blackburn as the Rao family, an Indian family of business people who have just bought the club thought he was not the right sort of guy to take us forward. It is his first managerial post. Anyway, some suspect the real reason Sam was sacked was because he was very much his own man, with his own ideas. This would probably have clashed with the new owners who seem to be relying on Sporting rights/player agency group Kentaro and agent Jerome Anderson to teach them about football. So it would be better to promote someone inexperienced, and easy to influence, than have Sam, who has a big ego.
