Paul Brown's 'all with smiling faces' is a brilliant read for anyone interested in this era, Newcastle United basically formed by some teenagers from the east end. When in financial trouble as they moved to their third ground off Chillingham road local businesses and people helped out. Pitch one was near Haults yard off Walker road, pitch two near the Byker wall where I sometimes played myself and my Dad before me. Had no idea when I played there it's significance. The final ground off Chilli road was where the Gaza club once was.

There's been some CCTV from the restaurant leaked by someone who works there called Hope. Unfortunately the camera's largely missed Ashley and Staveley and looks like it's more focused on the table adjacent to them. If you listen carefully you can still hear the odd laughter/chat in the background which might be the 'takeover talks'. Make of it what you will......

I listened on the radio and heard Warren Mitchell, (Alf Garnett) get interviewed at HT and being staggered by our support. (He was a Spurs fan unlike his alter ego).

I heard a few fans got a few whacks from a few police truncheons as well when they were trying to get over the fence to the next paddock to avoid squashing.
