  1. I see it more as getting a quality player in with a release clause the represents a bargain. I also can't see us being able go from 433 this season to 4231 next season, I think its a step too far, I think we'll likely see both in which case if you get Phillips in, you have a trio in Bruno, him and joelinton who can play in either of the two midfield setups, if you then add a number 10 who is able to play as a CM as well to that mix you have 4 players competing for three spots that have a lot of interchangeability regardless of which of the two systems is in play.
  2. Perfectly imo, he takes Shelveys slot in the midfield 3.
  3. Kalvin Phillips apparently has a 25 million release clause if Leeds go down. Should definitely be in for him at that price and you'd think we'd be in with a good shout of getting him.
  4. You're the strong one man, I'm just a poser
  5. Bit of googling says Andrade is generally reliable. No doubt there would be competition for him but perhaps getting in early when some other clubs are still figuring out their positions for summer might be great for us. The summers "trippier" signing, big player, sewn up early and setting the tone for the rest of the window.
  6. He was one of my picks in the "could you manage...' thread, he'd be an excellent signing but I feel like having to pick and choose the positions we strengthen with the most money, and needing to sort out our forward line which will be expensive, we would not be looking to drop the 40 odd million he is valued at this summer on a defender.
  7. Same tbh, trusting in our recruitment team on that front. Lingard definitely thinks he is worth more than he is and Coutinho has been bang average since March and with the way people on here carry on about ASMs defensive contributions I genuinely couldn't bear to have him in the squad.
  8. Ah thank christ for that. CT now has no reason to post here until next season.
  9. Its too important a way for us to boost money in and get more out of our FFP spend for that. If we were to go the way of not having a sponsor that makes us money I've always thought a season with the SBR foundation logo would be nice, can't even imagine the scale of the "BLERGH RERGH SPORTS WASHIGN!" articles if that was the first sponsor these new owners got though.
  10. Aye but now he's not playing well and we have loadsa money so might as well hate him and desperately want him replaced.
  11. honestly the contemporary squiers are fucking insane for how much they cost. My tele has fallen down the pecking order a wee bit, it weighs as much as my explorer does but since it is smaller and weighs more than my CS tele it feels like it weighs a ton whenever I pick it up. The neck though is unquestionably superb, finish feels fantastic.
  12. Shearers chucked in a "Neil lennon headbutted my foot" joke about half way in absolutely sold on this.
  13. The bloke who kicked the guy on the ground got humbled very quickly didn't he, seemed to lose all his fight quite suddenly
  14. Its the same as a lot of things I suppose, trickle down economics actually happens in guitar building Locking tuners, stainless steel frets, roasted necks, veneers and figured tops, bursts and fancy finishes. You can genuinely get stuff that was top end spec stuff 10 or 15 years ago on entry/mid level gear now. I have one guitar with a roasted maple neck and it was made in Indonesia.
  15. Love this, might have a listen of the podcast. Though I'm sure one or two members will find something to hate, Richards laughing perhaps?
  16. When I didn't think I could like him more
  17. Stop reading MSNs sports reporting then
  18. Sounds reasonable to me, happens all the time.
  19. Agree with what the others are saying Craig, that response is worse than a disgrace. If you're able to run with it and take it elsewhere, then run.
  20. Its based on their whoscored rankings rather than the eye test which does go some way to explaining it...sort of Why Trippiers 7.87 rating in his games for us doesn't put him at the top in that case though I do not know.
  21. Agree with that, full training should mean fit enough for the bench and it'd be good to see him get some time in each of the last three games. Him and ASM always linked up very well and his movement would be well appreciated by Bruno you'd think.
  22. I can't decide how excited I am by the prospect of Schick for this very reason, hes had a great season, and he has had good ones in the past but also 3 goals in 24 and 2 in 22 in different seasons at Roma a few years back. for the price he is quoted as being valued at, and with the number of CL clubs on the hunt for new goalscorers this summer he could well represent a really shrewd buy, but I'm not entirely convinced
