Eddie Howe's Glorious Get Into Them Mags vs Thomas Partey's Former Club
strawb replied to Gemmill's topic in Newcastle Forum
We don’t play these again until the end of April. We usually get better as the season goes on. Really looking forward to it after that, I hope we go there and kick fuck out of them. Especially if Tino’s injury is bad. -
Dubravka isn’t in the same league as Pope with regards to shot stopping.
-
Is that different from what I said?

The first save down to his left was world class, the others were run of the mill. Didn't see the whole game just the highlights so can’t comment on his kicking. The first goal I don’t see any error from him, the second is an issue with our marking set up from the corner and an error from Pope. He should have a blocker on the player standing on his toes, but he should also be stronger and clean everything out. I think there probably will be a reckoning for him at some point this season, he’s a great old type goalkeeper 99% of the time. In that he keeps the ball out of the net most of the time and he’s very decent from crosses. He doesn’t have the modern type of technique that most keepers have and really struggles with the ball at his feet. He’s class and his story (the clubs he’s played for) is a proper graft into professional football but we need to keep the ball better.

I’ve got quite a few but only wear them lounging around the house

Yeah it’s class here tbh, loads to do if you know where to go and pretty much always busy enough. Lots of good stuff happens in the suburbs too which is nice for old fuckers like me. Ive lived all over and it’s probably my favourite, although I still have a soft spot for Edinburgh from my uni days. You get used to the smell of weed

If you want any recommendations let me know

Nope for Benfica too

Fulham was a no for me as well

Anecdotal but I tried I think 12 times last season for a single ticket. Got zero. Tried 4 times so far this season and got one. So 1/16

I think this comes with getting older or it has for me. When I was younger I thought we could beat anyone if we played well enough. On a one off basis I think this is probably still true, but long term not so sure. If you could check the top 3 teams in a season for 20 years in the future I imagine the names would be very similar. Its being set up as a closed shop, the sky 6 get bigger while everyone else provides the opposition. It’s a difficult position because there has always been financial doping in the league, littlewoods pools, jack walker etc. and I’m not one eyed enough to say we would probably do it if rules hadn’t been specifically changed to stop it. I feel like the premier league is eating itself at a “product” and I can’t say it’s the worst thing to happen.

Joelinton pretty much man marked De Jong first half. Which is coincidentally when we were at our best. Once he went off we lost a bit of control
-
Yeah, our midfield three is great but they got bossed by their two. Pedri and De Jong were running that game.

Keep in touch with the club/coaches and explain the situation to them. They should understand, it happened a lot when I played. Lads would miss a season to play Sunday league with their mates, then come back for a year and so on. Suppose it depends if the club is willing and the player is good enough.

My mam is coming to stay so she’s not on her own, and we will have our lasses parents for dinner too. Her old man is Man Utd fan so once I’ve had a couple I like to bait him into whinging about how shite they are, then just say “yeah, I know. It’s class isn’t it?”

I really like autumn and this side of winter, January and February can fuck right off though. Im 41 this year and due to circumstance this will the first time I have Christmas in my own house. Can’t wait

Jamie Carragher spat at a child, on camera and is still on sky sports every weekend.

Just back to my mams after the game. Thought we were a bit sloppy with the ball, but wolves came to make it really difficult and did it well. That’s the kind of game in the past we draw 0-0 or lose 1-0 at the death. Tonali was outstanding, best player on the pitch by a country mile. Big Nick played well I thought, can see how he will fit in when we have everyone to pick from. Him dropping in, Gordon and Elanga getting beyond him. Will petrify some teams when it clicks. Delighted he got a goal early as well.

Drives me fucking mad this. southerners queueing for the bar all over Manchester like it’s normal, or reserving tables in a beer garden when the sun is out. Fuck right off
