I started this comment taking about keeping goal but.. Based only on the motd highlights, Dubravka made two routine saves. Then slipped, which can happen to anyone for their first goal. He should have saved the second IMO, he didn’t move his feet well enough and Pope saves it tbh. Regardless, I’m one of Dan Burns biggest fans but he (read, his lack of pace) is getting targeted by opposition managers (see first goal today). I don’t think this is a Dan Burn problem, he is being asked to play left back and tuck in to allow Trippier to get forward, we all know this and now opposition managers have realised. Simply playing a different player doesn’t solve this, because it changes the shape of the entire team. Our back four is severely lacking in pace, all great players but no sprinters among them. So when we as a team play as high as we do (correctly imo) and try to win the ball high (again correctly), if we don’t win it back high then we very open to a quick counter attack with one/two passes. I think the issues with our defending are more to do with lacking big and little joes. They have high press energy, and nobody else in our midfield does, so we miss winning the ball high, preventing the quick passes behind our defence. This exposes our slow defenders. Sorry for the essay

Off to get measured for my wedding suit in the morning. Looking forward to the final nail in my football career as they announce at 39 and with a 36” gunt I’m not in prime shape anymore. It’s a sad but also positive day, I’ve held the position that I was ready to step into the first team for over 30 years and now accept i might be past my best, it’s their loss. Now I’ve hung up my boots I’m looking to take over a pub in the west end, so if anyone has any contacts let me know.

I will be nearly 70 then, rather that than in my early 20s -

The comedowns/hangovers are crossing timezones here like, snarky fuckers. Everyone can watch the same game of football and come up with different opinions, it’s why we all still watch. You are all wrong btw, I’m right. -

Been in Manchester for nearly 10 years, it’s a great place to live with generally decent (city/stockport fans) people. Still not sure I would count it as the “north”. People are just a little different the further north you go (better), but it’s not the midlands. The mancs don’t deserve being lumped in with those mutants. -
Not had a finger up my arse in a medical setting yet, looking forward to it though. My first cancer was ball cancer, I reckon 60% of the medical professionals in greater Manchester have gone eye to with or fondled my cock and balls. It’s on my CV

I like my job, work in a small specialised team at quite a large company. We get left alone to do our work and no real hassle. I work from home full time unless I am out on site or at in person meetings. I did design my own job though so I’m sure that helps. I’ve never been one to stress over work stuff generally, but I’m still looking to stop as soon as possible though.

If I can count, he’s won 4 “major” trophies in 9 years at Liverpool. Despite spending nigh on a billion quid. Not saying he’s shite or anything he’s obviously a great manager (and a prick), but that record doesn’t get close to touching some managers records -
Realise I’m lucky (or unlucky) but I got a lumper when my dad died so I paid the mortgage off last month. Looking to go down to part time well before 50 now

I got tinnitus as a side effect from my chemo, it’s really strange how much it acts up when our lasses mates come round and I have to leave the room/house. Should probably look into it

When I lived in Clapham I was walking around the common and saw a lass knocked off her bike by a van. I ran over like a concerned citizen to see if she was ok or needed help or anything, the conversation went as follows. Me - “are you alright?” Her - “does it fucking look like it?” Me - “fuck yourself then” And I left, she wasn’t dying afaik

Doesn’t make sense regarding ffp. He only cost £12 million and has been here since 2022, unless we sell him for a decent profit I suppose. Apropos of nothing I hate transfer windows, another modern football invention invented for sky so they can keep people glued to sky sports fucking news on a loop by making shit up. See also, know nowt print journalists

I went to my first training session at Sunderland as a teenager in my Newcastle goalie kit. The cunt of a coach ran me for miles

It’s not as simple as better player, must play ahead of worse player. That doesn’t take into account team shape, relationships between players on the pitch etc. Need a left back long term though, it Howe doesn’t think Hall is up to it.
