  1. Aye, fair comment. But I still think there's a point that the loss of that many jobs should lead to more outrage than the Uber thing. To paraphrase Dan Ashcroft, the cunts are winning.
  2. Ballance is Root's mate. I know that sounds daft but I honestly can't think of another explanation.
  3. Yeah, I think Buttler would've been fair enough but looks like they've decided to plan for the future which I think is fair enough because it's unlikely he'll play anyway and Buttler's seemingly another one categorised as a 'white ball specialist'. The seam bowling all looks much of a muchness to me and I think we'll struggle for wickets. Looking a bit grim atm
  4. Got him his move to Man Utd
  5. Re: Hales, he hasn't kept wicket anywhere near enough to play at test level. Foakes on the other hand is supposed to be technically excellent as opposed to being another batsman converter into a 'keeper.
  6. It's a good point re: people being more arsed about stuff like Uber though. Although I'm in your court too. Still fucking seething about the whole thing
  7. Hameed's just broken his finger playing for Lancs. On TMS recently, Swann said England (and the man himself) really only consider Rashid to be a white ball specialist at international level. There's the fitness issue with Wood as well. I'd have taken Hales* though, without a doubt. Has experience as an opener, could play at 3 where he's played a lot for Notts and could also play in the middle order. *Ahead of Vince and Ballance.

There's little doubt it's peddling bullshit but plenty people are prepared to buy it
  9. The only team in the division that hasn't kept a clean sheet this season.

    It did make sense btw
  13. I just think it's mental (not to mention completely hypocritical) to expect young lads with loads of money (and fame) to behave like saints. It's never going to happen and most people who have a pop at them would be worse (but lack the dedication to get there in the first place). I just mean that generally, not in regard to this particular incident. People think they own people's lives and the way they can behave just because they're famous (and the old classic 'pay their wages').
  14. It's easy to pontificate. But I don't need to tell you that. They're still allowed a life and to let off steam, especially when they hardly see the family you're on about. The pressures of the modern game and the time the players spend away from home is unprecedented and fucking ridiculous from the point of view of actually having something approaching a normal life. Plus, no one really knows what went down yet. Expecting them to never go out and all that isn't really fair imo. Not saying he wasn't daft on this occasion. Don't think it'll affect his career one bit tbh
  15. If he increments the number of years he's been going to the match by 1 on his birthday, we'll know he's still alive.
  16. I know some people who knew him and they were all of the opinion he was sound if a little bit dodgy.
  17. He used to do that on his messageboard. What made it worse was towards the end when there were only something like 5 accounts posting on there about 3 of them were him.
  18. Is the correct answer, unfortunately.
  19. Aye, loveable rogue tbh. Especially in retrospect. RIP. Btw, I bet Leazes takes is on Twitter using this to have a pop at Toontastic and proclaiming he was right.
