Aye, loveable rogue tbh. Especially in retrospect. RIP. Btw, I bet Leazes takes is on Twitter using this to have a pop at Toontastic and proclaiming he was right.

They say people only say good things about people when they're gone...

Be a double bonus should it pan out like that when all the fuckwits determined for a hard Brexit are left fuming.

It might be the answer but I don't think the manager would go for it. I think it would certainly be worth a go against the 'lesser' sides, especially at home. Think you'd get overrun against the likes of Chelsea.
-
Yep. The only problem is a manager who can do that won't stick around. Is Ashley really too fucking stupid to realise this?

It's almost like we're having to make do with cheap strikers

Hope that turns out better than your predictions re: the rise of UKIP

Corbyn's never going to be PM anyway

Aye, there only seemed to be about 3 main routes into the city and if there was a crash or something on one of those in rush hour it was absolute bedlam. The International Airport feels like it's right out in the sticks as well. Think the problem is compounded by having nearly all the civil service centralised there too because Belfast city centre is seen as more politically / religious neutral than provincial towns / cities in Northern Ireland so you have even more commuters going to the capital than need be. Or at least that's what someone over there was telling me.
-
Would like to think so anyway.

Reminds me, I also thought it was funny how the Belfast - Bangor train line runs right past the City Airport but the nearest station (Sydenham?) is about half a mile away. Why the fuck didn't they just put an extra one at the airport? I know it's not that far but it's probably about a 5-10 minute walk (instead of taking about a minute) and it's a canny hike if you've got loads of luggage. I think they even had a shuttle bus running to the train station
-
That sounds plausible actually.

I wonder if he was badly advised. I know that doesn't remove all responsibility from him for the decision to leave or anything but you could imagine an agent telling him he needed to go for his England career / career in general. I got the feeling he didn't want to go and regretted it almost straight away.

Abso-fucking-lutely

Depressingly funny

When I worked over there I thought it was odd that all the taxis seemed to be owned by two companies owned by two brothers (who supposedly couldn't stand each other ). Fona cabs and Value cabs or something like that?

Trying to play to his base then perhaps. If it blows up in his face then all the better.

Thought exactly the same re: the protest, I.e. Rather than address the issue he's trying to make out the protesters are anti-American and insulting the military etc. An utter cunt playing to his utter cunt hardcore fan base

Is the sister supposed to have laughed when it happened or something? Thought that I was missing something (*insert obvious comment here*) too tbh

That's really interesting. I love watching stuff like that which gives you a greater appreciation of the ring craft involved. One last thing worth a mention about Ward is while I don't go in for all that religious stuff, it's admirable the way he conducts himself out of the ring. His devotion to boxing probably saved him from the addiction of both of his parents and lots of his mates in Oakland but he's also this humble (considering his talents) family man and you never hear about him acting like a dick. He's still with the lass he went out with in high school. Re: the sparring with Kovalev, Ward strikes me as the type who might hold back a little so as not reveal too many secrets.
-
Think he'd have been a bit too big and outpointed GGG. Not a criticism of GGG, just one's a Super Middleweight / Light Heavy (Ward won the Olympics at the latter). Would've been a good one though. Think the impressive thing about Ward is his ability (like Calzaghe) to make the necessary adjustments in a fight. Him v Calzaghe would've been a good one too but obviously the age gap meant that would never happen.
