  1. The somewhat forgotten man, Roland Ratzenburger, died in a horrific crash in practice the day before too.
  2. I think it’s been said before but, even if you got ridiculous money for him then you couldn’t just go out and get a striker of his calibre who would want to come. Because players like that want to play in the CL and genuinely challenge for honours. We haven’t yet proven that’s where we are or that it’s an inevitability in the short term. And you don’t just want to sign someone who’s done it, is no longer hungry and is just looking for a big final payday. He’s basically irreplaceable at the minute
  3. The fucking gall of that shyster
  4. Ian Levy? Set to lose by a country mile the newly created seat of Cramlington and Killingworth. He sent some stuff out a while back that made ridiculous promises (actually let’s call them what they are - lies) about the local funding he would secure if Tory councillors got in at these elections. It made fucking mental reading. Can you think of someone with less influence in Westminster than one of single term ‘red wall’ Tories? He’s not even controversial or particularly offensive. Just another Johnson arselicker set to become a nobody again.
  5. Apparently there’s a fly on the wall documentary being made (filming started in January) about Klopp’s final months at Liverpool. But no streaming service has picked it up yet. I don’t know about anyone else but I would definitely watch it
  6. The mackems have shown proper relegation form (or bad luck) for months now.
  7. Yeah, they’ll definitely have plenty candidates for the actual general election
  8. It’s odd because they’re killing the Tories. As ewerk points out they’ll get a larger vote share than the Lib Dem’s but will get zero seats compared to their predicted 50 or so. Reform will have sone candidates with skeletons in their closet but I think they’re essentially a protest vote for people who are massive cunts so it won’t matter. If the right wing press goes after them to try and get votes back to the Tories it’ll scupper any chance of them not fielding candidates. Although I don’t think that’s on the cards anyway atm. Sunak is just clinging onto his final days as PM now. Has there been any talk of another leadership challenge? Even that seems completely pointless and possibly even counterproductive in terms of gaining votes
  9. That blocked up nose eventually finished him off
  10. The latest prediction from electoral calculus: https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/prediction_main.html
  11. Look, he’s a highly intelligent, well-informed chap. If you don’t believe me, watch this:
  12. NFC is what they label patients at the Freeman who come from that part of the world (Normal for Cumbria/Carlisle).
  13. I think I heard on the news that the criminal damage bit relates to the damage caused to Hadrian’s Wall when they felled the tree.
  14. I got the candidate literature through for the combined authorities mayoral election. They each get the chance to submit a statement of what they’re about, policies etc. The Reform Party candidate didn’t even bother doing one. I’ve also noticed none of the Tory stuff I’ve seen ahead of the local elections has any party branding on whatsoever. Why would you even bother standing for a party whilst acknowledging the association with them is poison to most voters?
  15. Aye. You see it with my eldest playing junior football. You do actually get sone young kids who are decent but you also get ones who are little knobs getting their own back. It’s adults too but at that level / age group you get a lot of kids who are still at school. I actually think the oddest ones are when they clearly have zero interest in being there beyond getting their expenses
  16. Aye and you probably need to be already dedicated to becoming a ref when you would otherwise be playing junior football if you ever hope to make it as a PL-level official. It takes that long to progress through the ranks
  17. Genuinely laughing out loud at this btw
  18. That’s a parody account taking the piss out of the group with the same name, which was definitely not a copy of Wor Flags. Which then folded
  19. It’s also the classic mackem cycle of make something up, start believing it and then get annoyed about it
  20. The County Durham thing again! What fucking convoluted point are they making now? It’s a Tyneside folk song in which all of the people and events in it take place on Tyneside. The whole of my life and for a long time before it’s been associated with NUFC (and no other football club, bar altered versions). The only County Durham things to do with the song are the bloke who wrote it being from Gateshead (which used to be in that county) and the destination of Blaydon (ditto). But both of those places are overwhelmingly black and white anyway. Do they not think it’s significant that they’re travelling from and through Newcastle (as opposed to say, for example, Sunderland)? They are absolutely tapped, man
  21. I see the government are still steadfastly refusing to reveal Cameron’s financial / business interests. This is where the ministerial code isn’t fit for purpose. If you’re just obliged to do it by something like that, as opposed to a statutory requirement, then a government like this will just ignore it.
