Yeah, The Farmers was definitely at the opposite end of the old bus station. It was a great bar

Makes you think

Old Orleans is The Junction isn’t it? I haven’t been in. In fact the only times I’ve been in town for a drink in about the last two or three years I’ve only been to Rosie’s before going to Spot White for a few games of pool. That’s the extent of it

Fucking Bourgognes I used to imagine some hapless French tourists being lured in hoping for some Coq au Vin washed down with a bottle of the finest Pinot Noir only to be confronted with pensioners and their shopping bags having a couple of pints before getting the bus home

Used to go to Peppers for years post-match. No idea why except maybe its proximity to the ground and the metro home. It’s an experience. Just not a very good one. I do recall (as I haven’t been in for at least a couple of decades) that they always had offers on drinks plastered all over the walls, on the bar, etc. but they were never available at the time / day you were there. Also, despite the Beatles-theme name and psychedelic pictures on the wall all they ever seemed to play was 70s Glam Rock. I can hear Tiger Feet by Mud now when I picture the fucking dive.

His free kick winner away to Leeds (and that result/match in general) was a real turning point.

Brandling branding

And if you’re only bothered about environmental considerations when it’s to do with the building of a new football stadium for NUFC then it’s not really what you’re bothered about.

That Dr (Dolly Potter?) led the protests then permanently moved away from the area about a year later iirc. I think the council would wave it through this time. Corrupt AF but so is everything tbh so I’m all for it in this instance.

They’ve probably only said it so they can use it to attack Farage / Reform.

Fans taking flags with their clubs being referenced on them to England games has been going on as long as I can remember. Also everyone on RTG thought it was amazing that an England SAFC flag used to regularly appear at England cricket matches. They’re so fucking weird on there like. He’s as bad as just about anyone. Totally normal stuff signifies Geordies being weird attention seekers apparently

As long as he’s still in form then I think Rashford gets in the squad. Because he can also play through the middle and after Kane, who obviously play if fit, there’s only really Watkins as other cover there.
-
Bad news, mate. Hope you can get it sorted out quickly.

Because he’s playing for Barcelona. Sorry, BARCELONA. And you can peddle the narrative he’s had some incredible renaissance there because journalists are telling everyone he’s back to his best or whatever. Which will be in part at least pushing an agenda that sees Man Utd getting an OTT fee for him. I honestly don’t think he’ll ever be a consistent top performer anymore. But he’s on mental money. Re: Gordon, at international level I’m not sure he’ll ever be more than a flat track bully but even if they’d the case it was criminal that Southgate didn’t utilise him in situations that were tailor made for him. Tuchel is much more astute and more demanding in terms of performances

Absolutely iconic those posters like.

He was in a relationship with and had a kid with Angie Stone in the 90s and she died in a car crash earlier this year. One of those artists where he wasn’t really my thing at the time but appreciated his talent when I was bit older. Part of that scene back in the mid 90s that fused soul and hip hop. Which I thought was cheese but I now think he was responsible for some pretty good music. His Brown Sugar album especially. Definitely a talented and innovative artist even if he wasn’t your cup of char. No age to be dying of cancer like.

They need to close half the stadium to sell out 👍🏻

Willing to sacrifice the hostages as well as tens of thousands of Palestinians

There was a thing at the time where it was speculated that Khashoggi was killed because of private conversations and messages he was involved with criticising MBS. And that the spyware used was developed by Israeli intelligence as there was cooperation between them and the Saudis, over enemies they have in common etc
-
It’s all been lost in the noise since but weren’t there reports at the time that Egypt (iirc) told Israel an attack was imminent. Also terrible (if it was deliberately ignored) are the reports from the time where Israelis were holed up in safe rooms, etc hours and hours after the initial attacks still waiting for help. And it’s not just the wider intelligence, it’s the most secure border imaginable. The only thing that makes me doubt it is the amount of people required for a conspiracy like that to work and for them all to stay quiet. Although even that could be explained somewhat

At least he’s making the international break entertaining. The usual red top sycophants in the media have gone full North Korea on this one like. Imagine if it was Woltemade who had struggled and wasn’t scoring since his arrival. He’d be roundly being regarded as a flop and waste of money. Yet the older player with more premier league and international experience who cost more is just getting back to full fitness. Despite not having stopped training at any point recently, not recovering from an injury and having trained fully with his new club for several weeks.

Looks like it’ll be time to move on from talking about Isak again

Wirtz looks fucking dog shit. Which is nice

And miss out on this?

Agreed. 10 UEFA spots out of 16 including West Germany as holders in 1978
