  1. My advice: take a paracetamol
  2. I think organisations like the BBC now take the easy (and cheap) option of using social media to gauge fan opinions. Then you have the uber fans like Adam Pearson and Charlotte Robson who are there for that ‘hot take’ (actual analysis or insight not required). And I don’t know why anyone in the public eye would leave their comments turned on for their social media accounts, especially footballers.
  3. Aye. The ref should risk sanction by not applying the letter of the law purely because it’s Liverpool. It’s only been a rule in football for about 20 years as well.
  4. The Med event was long before modern humans were there after checking: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Messinian_salinity_crisis&wprov=rarw1 and the Zanclean flood: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zanclean_flood Still fucking terrifying to contemplate though
  5. Actually wasn’t the Mediterranean a huge basin at one time that was flooded after the last (or a previous) ice age?
  6. Probably several different catastrophes rather than one single event though, eg Santorini’s major eruption causing a Tsunami big enough to destroy the Minoan civilisation on Crete at that time.
  7. Also there’s pretty concrete evidence of mega tsunamis caused by earthquakes creating massive landslides like the Storegga Slide off the coast of Norway. As well as inundating and destroying what was Doggerland it’s been estimated that it could have killed about a quarter of the population of Britain at that time as well as other parts of Northern Europe. I think I read or saw something about North Sea trawlers still finding evidence in their nets of human habitation like tools etc plus animal bones of land dwelling mammals and so on. As Dogger Bank is still heavily fished
  8. Aye, I’ve seen the follow up one where the skinhead (who I think was only about 15 in the original one but looked fucking nails) is in the kitchen with his mam. And she was basically oblivious to his behaviour until she’d seen him on the telly
  9. I’ve mentioned this before but it ties in a bit with the above. Basically skinheads v rockers in the town in the early 70s. Back when skinhead culture was all about ska and reggae and Harringtons and Doc Martens and chinning anyone with long hair
  10. I think that’s Ekitiké out of their next league match isn’t it? One match domestic ban?
  11. It’s a tough job but he’ll keep soldering on.
  12. If everyone is fit and it’s a really big game I would say 9/10 the front three is Gordon-Wissa-Elanga. How many league games have they been available for this season again?
  13. He knows we know he’s a mackem. We know he knows we know he’s a mackem too
  14. The actual article is abysmal btw. Cites Farage in front of US lawmakers but makes no mention of his being eviscerated at the same time. Mentions Graham Linehan without the context of his mental crusade and how its alienated the people who used to be closest to him. Or how the moderators on X no longer moderate, rather they send reports they receive to the police who are duty bound to investigate them. It also fails to mention Lucy Connolly sentence was within the guidelines. But best of all takes most of its critical view of free speech in the UK based on what commentators in the US are saying about us. He’s always been a Tory stooge but presumably the odious cunt is now pinning his hopes on Reform.
  15. Nice to hear he takes after his mam
  16. Also: BUJ - big useless Joe. That aged well
