What makes the Isak situation even more annoying is that the league appears to be wide open this year. Not saying we’d win it with him in the side this year but you’d have to think we might be one of the sides in with a shout.
-
I was reading somewhere that Isak’s agent isn’t actually his agent or anyone else’s because he isn’t registered as an agent with FIFA. Although his brother is. And he acts as an ‘advisor’. No idea how accurate that is though

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER
Alex replied to Sonatine's topic in Newcastle Forum
I think he’ll end up back here -
Aye. If we sign another striker and he doesn’t get sold then maybe he would go there on loan for a season or until January. But I can’t see him joining a Saudi club on a permanent deal this window.
-
-
I think so. Because the window applies to when you can sign players not sell them, doesn’t it?
-
I know that trend for skinny jeans etc is well and truly over but how fucking baggy are his trousers?
-
If it’s not at least close to £150m then I can’t see the club agreeing to it
-
Yeah, maybe you are both right. It doesn’t count for much if they haven’t been in contact with NUFC and agreed a fee though. Equally so if we haven’t got another striker incoming edit: @Isegrim @Kid Dynamite

At this point I think his (fucking appalling) behaviour has scuppered his move, if not his career. What a pair of stupid fucking cunts him and his agent are.

Targett came on as a second half sub and got the assist as Boro beat Sheffield United 1-0 to maintain their 100% record

Not just the fans to win over either, is it? If you look at the article about Longstaff I posted it’s apparent they’re a very tightly knit group of players. I think they’ll all feel betrayed by the way he’s gone about things and how that’s probably robbed us of 5 points already. The backroom staff will feel the same you’d think and then there’s the manager most of all
-
Yeah. It’s all quite sad really. He’s only got himself to blame so it’s hard to feel any sympathy, particularly as a Newcastle supporter. But what you just posted reminded me of something a mate of mine said about 3 or 4 weeks ago. He reckoned that if Isak could’ve turned back the clock to the beginning of the summer he’d would’ve done things completely differently. I think that’s probably true. He’s acted so bizarrely and unprofessionally that his doubling down is the easiest option now because, at least until next week, reintegrating, apologising and fronting up to what he’s done is too much while there’s a chance he won’t need to. Whatever happens he’s placed a huge amount of scrutiny and pressure on himself and his performances. Then there’s the complete lack of a pre-season. If the move happens you could really see him struggling to live up to the hype and expectation.

So apparently they did this last season, ie CL games spread over Tue / Wed / Thursday. With individual weeks being dedicated to a single UEFA competition (ie no Conference League and Europa League being on in the same week as Champions League games, no CL or EL in the same week as Conference, etc). Supposedly to raise the profile of / give more attention to the Conference and Europa League. I assume it’s for the same reason again this season.

https://archive.is/s4yqW Nice article about Longstaff

I’ve just realised who he reminds me of: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laughing_Cavalier

It’s all a conspiracy, maan

We’re going to sign both of them and sell Isak to a Saudi club. #Imagine

They lent us some of the Coutinho money?
-
If it happens I really hope Willock leaves. Nowt against him and he’s been a big part in our transformation under Howe. But he needs a new club and I can’t see him getting much playing time
-
I’d rather he was crippled in the first training session at Liverpool

That’s because the Bilbao Black Cats have based all their research on trying to find evidence that fits their desire (you can’t even really call it a theory) to demonstrate a link between Sunderland and Athletic Club. The few links they have unearthed are at best extremely tenuous. I’m not quite sure what their motive is beyond trying to make SAFC relevant outside the region. Their approach is exactly what historians shouldn’t do, i.e. only searching for the evidence that fits their version of the story and ignoring far stronger evidence to the contrary.

We’re all buzzing but is no one going to spare a thought for Interim Merlin?
