  1. *gets ready to start a few on here then*
  2. Added the link HF, Get you aunt to replace this with the following: Replace: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html><!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/template.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" --> <head><title>Kingsmere Guest House - Guest House South Shields, Accommodation Tyne & Wear, UK</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <link href="css/default.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> <style type="text/css"> <!-- --> With <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html><!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/template.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" --> <head><title>Kingsmere Guest House Accommodation South Shields, Tyne & Wear UK</title> <meta name="description" content="Kingsmere Guest House Accomodation South Shields, Tyne & Wear UK"> <meta name="revisit-after" content="1 Day"> <meta name="robots" content="index, follow"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <link href="css/default.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> <style type="text/css"> <!-- --> Instead of this in your body text: Replace it with this: Also put the above somewhere in the header and make it header 3 tag. In other parts of your body you need the words Kingsmere Guest House Accommodation South Shields repeated a few more times, one as a link, one as bold, one as italic, one as header 2, one as colored text. Then think about what other keywords maybe important, and make them add-on keywords throughout the site really. Find some blogs that are related to your site and where there are posts and a comment feature, add your comment, and where it asks you to put your URI, put the link in. Do this with 4 other blogs (UK ones), When Google crawls N.O it will notice a new link, and follow it, recrawling it. With the tweaking and a few more inbound links, your rankings should improve by maybe a full page or more within a few weeks, depending. Anyone wants their site SEO'd, my rates are cheap
  3. Don't do this either keyword here, keyword there, keyword everywhere
  4. Oh, well in that case body keywords are very important, it is your content after all. A lot of people go ackers with the SEO thing though and their copy reads like a lits of keywords. Again, quality content is all that really matters. "Blue widgets welcomes you to blue widgets world, the number one place to buy blue widgets. Blue widgets have been operating online since 1997 and are a leader in blue widgets, supplying not only the public sector with blue widgets but also the private sector. Indeed we are regarded as blue widget kings." Bad. As is massive titles stuffed full of keywords, and nonsensical description tags also stuffed with keywords. Target your top 10 keywords carefuly, and try to cut to the chase without keyword stuffing as exampled above. Welcome to blue widgets world - bad Blue widgets world online - good And so on and so on. Another tip, hyphenate your pages, underscore is out apparently. So: Newcastleunited.htm - bad newcastle_united.htm - good newcastle-united.htm - even better Although to be fair, I think the results between underscore and hyphenate are marginal so...
  5. He was class, no-one seems to know who it was either. I have my suspicions like, but whoever it was is sorely missed. *feels a campaign coming on*
  6. The Meta Description Tag is very important, Keyword Tags aren't though which I think is what a few were referring to.
  7. I'll add it later to N.O, we have a page rank 5 (I think) so that should set the ball rolling. I have to be careful myself mind as N.O's turning into a link farm of late I actually have to sort that site out, forum's page rank has went down to 3 due to it not pointing back to the main site when the header disappeared, and we seem to be the victims of a few scrapper sites, gets.
  8. Metatags are not the way forward, the likes of google ignores them. Htt is right its down 2 links in and good ones too. Do not use adfarms. Aye Meta Tags are nowt these days, good shout regarding link farms and other such spam sites. Honestly though, if I was someone just starting out building a site, I'd concentrate on building quality content because without it you'll get nowhere. Content is king and all that.
  9. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q...+week&meta= For a big keyword, 5th on the first page. Site only a few weeks old. Green Street film review http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&s...eview&meta= Give me a year and I'll be on the first page of Google, in the top 5 for most of my targeted keywords, 1st for a few, and 1,2,3 for another couple. Dead easy if you know how Getting traffic to any site is easy, despite what they tell you, now getting people to buy from you, that's hard, very hard.
  10. Well the site I'm talking about is now top of the first page on Google through using that service. If I type "films on tv" into Google, I don't get your site on even the first three pages. So kiss it, bitch! And that site works for Yahoo and all the rest of them. You got lucky
  11. Gemmil built a site I have to see this, howay, post the link. You've giving me enough jip over N.O, bit payback
  12. You don't want to fall into the trap of targeting just Google users, there is MSN, Yahoo (Directory), All Of The Web and other Search Engines that can provide just as much or more traffic than Google can. Ideally you want to do well in them all. Anyway, what you need more than anything... Links off quality and relevant sites, sites with a Pange Rank of 3 and above ideally, your aunt's site has a page rank of zero BTW, that needs to rise. Google uses PR to determine all kinds of things about your site, its popularity mainly, more links linking to your site means its a popular site people feel they need to link to, equals a higher page rank for you. The idea however is to keep the number of links you give away to none or just a few. Some content, you have none. Basically there is nowt to crawl and more importantly, nowt to recrawl again and again. Google likes fresh content. You need to optimise keywords and phrases on the site and you also need to research others sites like yours and what Google returns for those search words etc. Cut out lots of none relevent words, keep the copy as tight as possible. You need a Dmoz listing (very important) And you also need to give it a while, as sometimes it can take months to get indexed properly. BTW Gemmill, Obagol is right, those search engine submission services are a waste of money (a con in fact), aimed at newbies really and something used by hosts and domain name companies to lure people into buying domans through them and hosting packages, I'm surprised you had to pay for them as they usually do this for free and even then, there are literally hundreds if not more free online tools to submit sites to the engines. Biggest factor regarding search engines is trial and error, depends what you want though. If you want to tweak everything to dominate it is an ongoing job, just want to rank well enough, the things outlined above should do the trick, depending on how competitive the keywords are.
  13. Tell me about it, I have to type it out twice. Well I copy and paste, but still.
  14. Butt is obviously a strong candidate, fair enough, but are people not looking at his utter abject performances for us in the past, and being swayed because he is now no longer putting in such performances? He's performed very well throughout of course but he's hardly been outstanding. Mind, neither has Milner (my choice) or anyone come to think of it Perhaps that says more about the team than any one individual maybe...
  15. I don't think we've heard the last of the takeover rumours like, could have something to do with that, or it could be one of FS's clan. I still think we'll get bought out eventually one day, I'm not convinced by Shepherd's patter about this being a Geordie club for Geordie people or the rumours that he wants to buy the club himself and take it private, put it that way. He's a businessman and cares only about the money. Anyone daft enough to give him what he considers top wack for his shares, would win in my opinion. Even if he doesn't want to sell, I think market forces will dictate things as more and more of the top end of the Premiership is taken over. If Arsenal fall, there is only really us and Spurs left. In the coming years what with all these new rich owners and new money being pumped into those clubs, even for clubs like our own that can generate a lot of money to try and compete, will find it hard to do so. I think we have near enough maxed out our potential under this board, financial and on the pitch. If things don't improve drastically, the board will have to sell for the good of the club.
  16. I laughed, never heard it before.
  17. Given the talent ahead of him for England, he'd do canny to opt for Scotland, he'd be near enough guaranteed to play if he's performing well even in the Championship.
  18. I'd rip their arm off. I actually think, if Spurs really are interested in Dyer, they would be more than open to such a swap deal. IMO anyway. Malbranque would be a good signing on his own, cracking little player.
  19. Milner for me, personally. I for one wouldn't blame him had he came back as he did at the last hour, and decided to say fuck this club. In fact I half expected him to. The very fact he hasn't and has actually performed quite well speeks volumes about his character and desire to play for Newcastle United. If only others had his attitude... Nobby has been a star at RB this season mind and for that alone deserves massive praise. Martins has done exceptionally well in his first season goals wise, but his performances have been quite poor at times. Butt has turned his career here around but his performances haven't been earth shatteringly good, he's just performing like he always did before he joined us. Although the way he has went about it deserves special praise because like Milner, he could have easily said fuck it. Shows he's a true professional and has the right character (you don't play for Man Utd all those years and win what he has by being half arsed so we shouldn't be surprised) Taylor has at times (not very often mind) shown just how much potential he has, but overall everyone apart from those already mentioned, Taylor included, have been either absolute shite, average or a mixed bag. Even the ever so reliable Shay hasn't look half as convincing this season when he has played. Duff has been the biggest disappointment, and although I don't want to bring up Luque, for me he is the bigger flop of the two because unlike the Spaniard, he's actually been given chance after chance after chance and has no other issues Luque may have like settling in, language etc. What a daft signing he was. Hope we sell him, can't see it though.
  20. First £7m for Jenas, and now some money for Dyer? That would be great if that happened, can't see it myself though. I'd take a swap deal for Malbranque please.
  21. [sima]Cringes, tbh[/sima] Nah, happy birthday
  22. I've watched him a few times this season, he isn't the same player like, that could be due to the shite around him and him just easing himself back into regular first-team football like. That and any player will be different after a few long-term injuries. Still class on his day though. Anyway good luck to him I say.
  23. Aye, was HF's thread that inspired me. You'll be amazed at how many ideas come straight from forums though (all across the web), I've had tons of ideas myself thanks to forums, some are waiting to be developed, some never got off the ground and some are already in existence. The next one is inspired by you 2J Adidas weekly ??? Titsinorangeadidastopsthisweek.com Only joking 2J
