Took them with my TZ5. Not sure if it will give you enough manual control if you're into your close-ups. It has a macro setting and you can mess around with some of the settings to a limited degree. The Lumix LX3 might be more up your alley but it has nowhere near the zoom.

I'll put up some of the snaps that I've took with mine when I get chance. Can you do close up stuff with it? What about this RAW file type that they all rave on about on NO? She might get wedged in one of the tunnels. I want you to imagine something; you're a 29yr old 20+ Stone woman. The tube chairs are too small for you, the heat and still air is making you sweat and feel faint. You have to squeeze through turnstiles that everyone else is breezing through. You can't move quickly and everyone around you is in a rush. People have to shove past you on the escalator. Probably prefer to get a cab... wouldn't you? Feel a bit bad now.
