We've spend buttons on our team and they've spent millions, and yet we pillage the three points at their place. It must really really hurt. Regarding the pelanty incident, it was obviously hand to ball and intentional; I thought Larsson's body language and expression immediately after he'd done it reinforced that. Not that it made any difference to the result. If I was their owner I'd be calling the fat drunk into my office early doors to demand where the fuck my money had gone.

If it was a done deal last Jan (and assuming that deal was to his satisfaction), it makes little sense for him to have been bitching over Twitter this summer. You'd just be sat tight with your bags packed. Doesn't really stack up for me that one. Yeah I don't get it either. Surely LFC would have wanted him in for pre-season if it was a done deal? That's not to make excuses for the club either. Fwiw I think they genuinely wanted to keep hold of him (ie it wasn't that they were looking to make a transfer fee 'profit' out of him), but it was always entirely unrealistic to think they could given that his new package would only have seen him (again I assume) in line with Tiote, when he could have got more elsewhere. All parties knew this so the fact it was an utterly unrealistic hope means the club should have had replacements lined up as they were basically on notice of the need to replace him for ages. I can't work this one out tbh. It must have been obvious Enrique was determined to leave, and if the club was adamant they weren't going to increase their offer, then there was zero chance he would sign. So why didn't we have this sorted ages ago? The only things I can think of is that we've put it off as long as possible to save wages or - more likely - they wanted the sale to go through first as otherwise the money wasn't there for a transfer fee. It seems a risky way to do things to me - surely better to get the replacement in then sell the wantaway player?

I agree Leazes. An expert panel could decide what was the appropriate ban depending on the severity of the tackle, injury and level of intent inferred. If a player's leg is broken by a deliberately reckless challenge like De Jong's on Ben Arfa, the perpetrator could be banned for as long as it takes for the player to return from injury.

I'd be happy if we signed a LB like Pieters or Cissoko but I can't believe we'll do it. iirc we haven't spent more than 5 mill on a player for donkey's years and the majority of our dealings this transfer window have been free transfers. These players will surely cost a lot of money?

The club's bringing back its Salah days Boom tish

100k is a joke offer for a player under contract

From BBC Gossip Manchester United striker Michael Owen's latest endeavour off the pitch isn't buying a new car or going on holiday - it is trying to complete a 1000-piece horse-inspired jigsaw puzzle. Owen posted a picture on his Twitter account, adding that he was about to embark on the "biggest challenge" of his life. What a boring tool

What was the upshot Kevin? You going to Uni or what? Can't be bothered to trawl through the thread...

Enrique has his own agenda, I wouldn't trust him to tell the truth about what went on.

I agree, Enrique should keep his mouth shut. If he was so concerned about it he'd have stayed and seen out his contract. This is just a dig at his ex-employers and justifying his decision to leave imo. As for Pardoo, it's more wind and piss. Show us the money, rapey.

12 days to get a left back and striker in

This is how I see it too. Used car salesman patter, just part of the job as far as he's concerned. My guess is all 3 scenarios apply. -
I think it needs pointing out that no one in the history of humanity has performed one activity on more occasions than you've had hot dinners. And if you want proof of this, I refer you to a match at which you ate a pre match cheeseburger and needed another one 45 minutes later. 2 hot meals in under an hour. CT will be off for some comfort eating. While he's stomping round the kitchen loading up a sandwich the size of a small country, his daughter will be doubled up at this.....

I'm getting the feeling you don't like Deano? Nothing specific you said, just a vibe...am I right?

Sounds like Tom's going to make CT train with the kids and available on a free transfer. It's Joey Barton all over again

I don't know why you're putting Chez forward as a Tony Blair figure CT. Educated and knowledgeable he certainly is, but he's also forthright and direct in the way he puts things. He will directly tell people they are talking shit or bollocks, in those terms, someone called him acerbic recently, iirc Chez described his style as robust. In my book that's fair enough if you can back up what you say. FWIW I frequently find his posts insightful, yours have different qualities Incidentally I don't think you could find a more unflattering comparison than John Prescott.

If it follows the Andy Carroll model we'll get someone old, cheap and shit to replace Enrique. Like that bloke who used to play for Leeds who was as slow as a carthorse even in his prime (can't remember the name)
-
CT doesn't bother me at all. I don't agree with most of his views on the club but so what, it's a footy message board & he's entitled to his opinions. I certainly don't think a ban is merited just because he annoys some people.

I still can't get over selling Enrique without having someone in the bag. Surely it's obvious he was going? How on earth can we start the season without a LB? It beggars belief. The striker vacancy is also obvious, although we at least have Ba. Despite the pressing need for another striker, nothing has been sorted. I'm beginning to think HBA is the second striker and there is no real intention to sign anyone else in that position. Hope I'm wrong. We're too thin at the back and front imo.
