  1. Strange transfer. Either sign him and play him, especially when we've been short of good strikers, or don't sign him in the place. Unless he was a Dennis Wise special/Youtube signing and they realised they'd dropped a bollock Fumaca style when he turned up.
  2. were you celebrating it being Thursday?
  3. All part of the calorie controlled diet?
  4. I hope that doesn't mean that getting a new striker in is conditional on moving out Lovenkrands.
  5. PL is right. I don't blame Enrique for going but the way this has dragged on into the new season is a fucking disgrace. It's obvious this was stictched up last season so we should have sold the man and had a first teamer bedded in pre-season with a half decent understudy. We have neither. We're also severely undercooked on the right with Simpson/Raylor and we've needed another decent CB since last season imo. It just seems like we're moving out high earners at all costs regardless. Coloccini will probably be up for sale in January along with Jonas, just leaving Alan Smith to see out his contract. Turfing out PL hardened players for foreign imports is risky and we lack depth in key areas too. Even if we get Erik wotsisname in and a good new striker (surely the bare minimum required), we've staggered into the new season in shambolic fashion on the back of a farcical pre-season, and will be playing virtually a new team vs. Arsenal. Personally I don't think Pardoo is up to much in the team building stakes so let's hope thay have the stones to pull together on their own. I'll be amazed now if any of the 35 mill sees the light of day.
  6. Pretty boring so far today
  7. That sounds a bit pricey for us

Certainly the next player after shola to get it won't be intimidated by the shirt...
  9. It seems to me the welfare system has spawned generations for whom sitting on their arse and claiming benefits is a way of life and yet they still complain they're hard done to. It also provides a safety net for Somali immigrants to prepare bombs to terrorize the populace. In between these extremes are people genuinely in need who would literally starve to death without state aid. Plainly the uk cannot afford to fund hand outs on an epic scale and it infuriates taxpayers when times are hard to see some twat in a tracksuit looting small businesses which will never recover. However I would worry that any root and branch reform is going to hit the genuinely needy whilst rightly targetting work shy chavs who prefer to while away the day by smoking blow and playing on the xbox. It's a tough thing to get right I reckon.
  10. Unfortunately the wealthy are well advised and mobile. You can put taxes up all you like, it doesn't mean the rich will pay more in practice.
  11. Which piece of furniture would he be? Plainly Xisco would be a pouffe A three-legged chair. Do you mean a stool? Quite appropriate given its other meaning

  13. As Stevie said a while back, potentially the first player to get booed at his own testimonial. Isnt be becoming a bit of cult figure now? Or is that just me? Is cult a typo?
  14. I wonder if perch knows the French for "you're shit" and "why are you in the team?"
  15. Not sure whether Upson is still any good but would like to see us get an experienced CB in (not a Sol Campbell type knacker though). Obviously we can't afford to do this.... 14 mill for Pavyluchenko is mental imo. Can't see us paying the fee or signing a 30 year old for that matter.
  16. No Ben Arfa? Or do you mean for Arsenal? He'll be on the subs bench, man
  17. I'm looking forward to this lad signing. Hopefully this means Pardew will drop Gutti and play Ferguson instead. Then all we need is a new striker and we'll have a mint team! Krul New RB Collo New CB Pieters Obertan Tiote Cabaye Ferguson Ba New Striker And the great thing is only 2 of those players were in the team last season! Yay! Go team positive!
  18. Sorry, sammynb ... I couldn't help myself. In the second line you've both tolerated the incorrect spelling of 'perfectly' and the use of 'possibility' instead of 'possible' I want you to know I'm not angry so much as disappointed...... Jesus, you're right ... and I'm a book editor. The mind turns off when I'm on the net.

  20. Good advice imo. Contesting the fine is pointless unless you've got evidence otherwise, best to pay up and move on if you can live with it.
  21. This thread is like wandering into a parallel universe
  22. Bristol? Really? Never thought of Bristol as a hotspot of insurrection. When I posted yesterday asking when this mindlessness was going to spread, Bristol was one of the places I was going to list as potential hot spots (no pun intended). Like most cities these days, the place is a nest of pikey cun The fact, which I believe 100%, is that these youths up and down the country are just waiting for the first shop window to be put out. Good thing for us that 99.9% of these cretins don't have the balls to be the one who chucks the first brick. They see smashing windows, looting and setting fire as a bit of fun. They would love nothing more than for it to happen where they are. Arseholes. St Paul's in Bristol was a scene of anti-thatcher rioting at the same time as the Briston riots iirc
