Weightlifting just got more interesting too with the "snatch and prick" technique

Congrats on your wedding. Sydney is mint.

As depressed by this as anything toon related for a long time. As ever with NUFC, disappointment is just lurking around the corner.

Surprised that baby facilities are better in England these days.....certainly eating out with kids was always a mission in the UK and much easier in places like France, Italy and Spain

I was interested in whether people feel things are genuinely worse in the UK than abroad. The British press seems to specialise in doom mongering, I expect the Mail and Express have been complaining about things getting worse since the 1890's.

Presumably his toy parrot will be assistant coach? Good luck and all that but giving Gazza any kind of responsibility sounds daft to me.

Are things really that bad these days?

Research by uSwitch has revealed that high living costs, below average government spending on health and education, lack of holidays and late retirement have contributed to a bleak picture for Brits. To make matters worse, the UK no longer enjoys the highest net household income in the continent. Last year it was £10,000 above the European average, whereas now it is just £2,314 ahead, slipping below Ireland, the Netherlands and Denmark. Britons in search of quality of life might want to move to France, as it held on to the top spot in the index for the second year in succession. Spain came second, while Denmark, Poland and Germany helped to make up the top five spots, with all these countries offering more days of holiday and a lower retirement age than the UK and Ireland. Recently, a study by Aviva and accountants Deloitte found that the UK has the biggest pension gap in Europe, with Britons needing to increase the amount they save each year to have a good retirement income

rubbish. We were only a couple of players short of having a team that could have qualified for europe again, which is why Keegan left. I suppose you know better than Keegan then ? I'm not saying I'd be a better manager than Keegan, but I probably knew more about what it would take to qualify for europe at that time than a man who admitted he hadn't watched a match in two years mate.

I can understand all of that. I just can't seem to stand him since he managed us.

Friday night here and I've already tucked into the booze....

I have to say that Wall St Journal article is just laughable. The idea that a bank would be deterred from making money out of a situation because of a few hundred fans sending angry emails, or some skank waving a poster, is just hilarious. The more likely scenario is it's a total money pit at the moment, in a downward spiral, Hicks is an over leveraged bad debt risk, and they won't touch him with a shitty stick. Furthermore for all the debt didn't they spend a shitload of cash under Benitez? I don't hate LFC at all but they seem to get an easy ride from the press.....

Not for me. Carroll is the far superior player. His link up play is much better and you need that when leading the line on your own. I don't think putting in 1 good performance is worthy of him getting a place. I'd rather still see Ranger ahead of him in the pecking ord4r. Im deffo not a Shola fan but how often do fans go on about managers picking "in form" players. After that display Shola is In form. Also it may well be that having being dropped for so long and with lots of attacking footballers around him the chances can be laid on for him. Are we all convinced Carrol is ready to do it week in week out in the prem? FFS it's Shola, man. Put him on the bench.

See, I'd rather be a window cleaner actually. Plenty of fresh air, you get to neb at other people's living space, then there's the grateful customers , hours to suit, plus you're working with heights and there's probably a bit of daft carry on. What's the attraction of engineering these days? Not much to do with Isambard Kingdom Brunel anymore I should imagine.

From Paddington? I've done that before twice in one week, disembarking at Didcot and Oxford pissed and confused. Yeah, I got the 12.20 and woke up in Oxford at 1.45am. Obviously no trains going back at that time, so had to get a taxi back to Reading. Righto, I lived in Goring at the time near Pangbourne. At Oxford I awoke due to the guard kicking me awake, I was lucky enough to find a cab past midnight at the station who relieved me of 50 notes to get home. I argued with the cabbie at first about the price he quoted and stomped off up the road. Not a soul to be seen. He followed me after 5 minutes and got his fare no arguments It was 1.45am, i needed to be up for work at 6.50 (with the very real possibility of a having to feed a five month old during the night) and i'd just woken up, I just accepted the boot in the clems with grace!!

Supporting one of our players, innocent until proven guilty I guess. If it turns out true which I doubt, I'm sure Quinn will sack him anyway. Just our luck this, he's playing class then he's arrested under suspicion of rape, great. Titus has a gift for putting his foot in it. He was investigated for something similar when he played for us and here he is again a few years later. He's not the sharpest knife in the box is my guess. Don't blame your chairman for supporting him. However if he was still our player no doubt everybody would be clamouring for us to sack him, like with Joey Barton.

Paper thin article. 2 lines from Benitez, hardly a tirade of criticism

I sense a tremor in the whisky bottle

It's probably the drink but I'm not sure what your point is? We have an owner who can run the club as shit as he likes as long as he bankrolls it?

Kitman sits down after a short rebuttal to the judge. I may have been drinking this hevening occifer
