FYP There is a stink about Harry, and I'm not talking about the jellied eels. That's why he won't get near the Englun job imo.

He hasn't been so good the last couple of years. He's still a world class player, one I only thought the big three could sign. Apparently a fee was agreed with FC Bayern Munchen yesterday of £18m, but today he's going to Spurs for £8m. He's not that good anymore, he had one bad injury at Hsv (ankle ligaments - which we both know players never fully recover from). He's slowed down a bit and losing his hair and he wasn't part of Pellegrini's plans in 2009 at Madrid and was told so. Only played 70 games (out of 120) at Hsv in 3 years. He's not the player he was back in 2006/07 and unless he has a worker/minder in the side with him in midfield he isn't that effective. Infact the PL (high tempo) is the worst place he could have come, would have been better to nip back ot the easy Eredivisie. Still a very good passer and connecting midfielder, as good as Modric without the horror movie looks. Parky prediction - will have some good games and the odd 'wow' game, but will fade from Harry's plans within a year or so. Harry is doing his usual trick of buying the players he fancies without bothering to move on any of the old ones. He then goes off those ones and buys some more. He's like a kid in the sweety shop who can't decide what he wants. Without a chairman with brass balls to rein in his spending, his clubs end up with a huge squad and presumably a huge wage bill to match. I think he's left both Portsmouth and Southampton down the shitter through doing this.

Is personal alcohol abuse or does it include alcohol related violence out of interest? Anyway you could have put most places in the UK on that list and I'd have believed it.

I can't help but think Heskey would wilt under pressure of playing at SJP. At 32 he might well be finished. Or he might come good as Stevie reckons but it seems like too much of a risk to me. Plus we have a zillion strikers so would Ashley approve a move anyway? That's if Villa are prepared to let him go anyway.

Wasn't that supposed to be Best?
-
Maybe it's just someone who looks like a great useless lump who falls over at the slightest touch and can't score goals. But is good really.

No, I'm not going to look at that Homer thing. No siree. Whatever it is, I'll never be able to watch the Simpsons again without seeing it in my head.

God I hope that's not true * Pours large drink * * Pours another large drink *

With regards to that particular chestnut.... I can only assume that "we" means the Scottish FA who realised the International squad was a big enough joke without adding Strolla to the mix Realised how fucking mental the jock fans would go if you ask me. Shola McAmeobi. Newcastle United, England, Nigeria, Scotland - equally shit in any team. Hoots Mon!

which street would that be? Corrie. Quality would of been a better comeback If you want my come back go wipe it off cheryl cole's chin I can't decide which bit of your post is the least likely

Now all you need to do is to explain the difference between 'have' and 'of'. We could of been in the top 4 have it not been of Keegans departure. "I could of been a contender"

If he gets the England job, his twitch will get even worse. they'll have to tether him down to interview him.
-
Obviously the key will be to make him feel loved and appreciated. He's plainly high maintenance and the club has a massive responsibility to get him onboard properly and make sure he settles and feels at home. Let's hope they don't fumble the ball.
-
Agreed, but Best was Hughton's signing and he probably had to crawl over broken glass to convince Ashley to agree it. So it's difficult to admit failure. Ameobi has delusions of adequacy and I reckon he won't trade down to his level ie Division 1.
-
Top post MM, pretty much agree with everything you say. A lot of the amateurism behind the scenes has to be put down to the manager and coaching staff, in particular Souness and Roeder. Obviously these were the Board's appointments but the day to day stuff like the onboarding of players, training, fitness, preparation, handling of players etc fell to the club staff, and in retrospect weren't good enough for a "top club".

I think he's gambling on Carroll and Nolan being good enough and staying fit between now and January at least (or in Carroll's case, fit and out of jail). Best is Carroll back up, Lovenkrands is impact sub off the bench 15 mins left, ditto Xisco but 5 mins left, Ranger is a reserve player. That leaves Ameobi to clean the boots and make the tea I think our biggest problem is we have 2 or 3 strikers we need to shift before the FCB will sanction a further recruit up front, but we can't move them on because they're below average and overpriced ie Xisco, Best, Ameobi

By God, that would require precision bombing.....

My old man used to brew bitter from kits; he always just used a fermentation bin and bottles. I think the idea is that the last bit of fermentation happens in the bottle to give it a decent head, so you don't need to add anything. Might be different with lager which is fizzier. My advice would be not to invest too much in buying stuff for it, until you've decided whether you enjoy it or not. It's never as good as bought beer and it becomes a pain in the arse to make after a while. Also home brew gives you a bigger kite, or it did with my dad anyway !

Hence the German saying "As obvious as a wolfswinkel"

Is this a made up name?

He probably throws the medicals anyway. Shouts "Ooh me bastard hip!" and collapses when he's on the treadmill. A bit like sticking red spots on your face with a felt tip pen to avoid going to school.

Geddin! Can't wait to see him get up and Hatem....
