  1. So the kid asks me for a teddy. A teddy?! A fucking teddy?! No way, not in Roy Keane's grotto - not now, not ever. I get him with a full bore sliding tackle halfway to the exit. Have that, you cunt. No half measures, no prisoners taken. I don't wait to be shown my cards, I'm up and walking straight away. I don't look back - you never look back on them - but I know I've done him good and proper. Good. He'll never ask Roy Keane for another teddy.
  2. The missus and I were in Florence on Friday when the whole thing kicked off. Flight to UK was cancelled...we had to drive from Pisa to Paris and take Eurostar home. Very lucky to have rental car already which we could use and get train tickets online, otherwise would still be stranded in Italy with the kids in UK. Cost about an extra £1,000 to get home - but we will get a £45 refund from Ryanair to compensate. On the upside we got to spend an unscheduled day in Paris in beautiful sunshine. Due to fly back to NZ on Weds but looking unlikely....c'est la vie.
  3. First toon match in 4 years! Some impressions: Crowd were great craic, Peterboro is a dump, their ground is pitiful, the view from the Moys terrace was surprisingly bad. In fact you could've used any part of it as a toilet. Simpson and Pancrate were gash together, we played poor first half, gifted them a goal but they didn't look likely otherwise. Our equaliser on the stroke of half time deflated them and when we bothered to play second half we easily dominated. Routledge sub on half time made a big difference. I thought Barton was very ordinary first half but got into the match after the break. Smith and Nolan were pretty pedestrian throughout. When we went 3-1 up we stopped playing and let them back into it. Guti was terrible when he came on and gave them a couple of good attacking chances by giving the ball away. We couldn't defend the long throw. All in all a scrapping fighting victory, but not top of the table stuff; we did enough and no more. The Peterboro fans were friendly on the way to the ground and there was no bother that I saw. The support from the toon was quality, loved the Coloccini song, the Peterboro fans seemed resigned to losing and hardly sang throughout. Defence was generally good, Simpson apart. Enrique had a good match, Williamson looked solid. Up front Shola was his usual frustrating self and Best was very very ordinary. Couldn't see the ball go in for Shola's goal but couldn't believe he'd scored and keeper seemed well positioned. Best had a couple of good chances but fluffed them. We clearly need more pace and power up front and disappointed not to see carroll play. Shame we weren't promoted, toon army was singing "If Bristol score, we're on the fucking pitch!" and a rumour went round at one point Bristol were 2-1 up. Good to see the toon win, great day out, roll on Reading!
  4. You were right, good on ya. Looks like I'll be at Peterborough, and possibly Reading, so I might even get to see some of the glory season!
  5. Kevin, best to ring the ambulance before you bite your balls off
  6. This could be the night you bite your balls off then
  7. I can't see Hughton being replaced until half way through next season if we're really struggling. If that happens I'd be pleased with Hughes.

    She's back

That's the way I see it. I'd care more if he was a top defender, but he isn't and probably never will be.

    She's back

She's probably been briefed by Taylor's Dad

    She's back

Personally I don't care if he goes as he never seemed quite good enough for the PL to me. Plus there were always rumours of him trying to engineer a move away. The key question is whether we replace him adequately if he goes......

    She's back

I think she's got it right that one of the two will likely need to leave. Seems like it's Taylor for a number of reasons, but that's up to Hughton. As for Hughton being diminished that's rubbish imo, and what it's got to do with anti-apartheid or the UN is beyond me. All clubs act pragmatically and we're no different, so it's a bit silly to suggest otherwise.
  12. Kitman C. --- Is capable of much better. I think a C is much too generous
  13. Ashley - shite Llambias - shite Hughton - OK This thread - shite
  14. I'm relaxed about this one. Shouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things but would be nice to tonk 'em.
  15. Hughton has proved to be good enough for the CCC. Whether he's good enough for the PL second time around, we shall see. I'm sceptical. I'm all in favour of hiring a promising replacement for Hughton if he fails. But Mowbray doesn't seem to have any promise about him. As for Keane, I don't think there's any chance of signing him as he's comparatively old, overpaid and overrated.
  16. I loved Commando (the comic not the shite Arnie film). All the German I know comes from there - Schweinhund - Hande Hoch - Gott in Himmell - Raus Raus - Nein Nein aieeeeeeeee etc
  17. Hope you folks get a nice long hot summer as I understand the last few ones have been crap. Not something we struggle with here.
  18. Yes a win would be a death blow for them. We'd only need to win something like 2 of our remaining 7 matches to guarantee promotion.
  19. Strange substitution. An old man and a player who's not match fit for the last 20 mins. It's like inviting them to attack us, shirley?
  20. I can only assume Butt sucks a mean cock....
  21. I expect Butt needs a nice cup of cocoa and a tartan blanket....
