I might celebrate too if we could score 8 (or 4...or 2...) against the Arse at the Emirates. 3-0 to them, the murmurings about "Keegan's past it" to start immediately following.

Even among a very trashy Spuds defence he's pretty bad and these quotes show what kind of guy he is. Pass thanks. Here's to hoping it's made up.

A £9m signing. People laughed their tits off at Boumsong. All this is coming out of the corrupt Thai's bottom line, I don't think scraping Europe and bombing out to Atletico Plumbers Union will be worth what Sven will have entually spent at this rate. Although I heard some fools were willing to offer a daft amount for their 19 year old centre back. ...What nonsense are you spouting man, this is the worst I've heard from you in months. Get off the ganja. So a £9 million signing didn't work out in England. It's not like it's never happened before. And considering where City were last year I don't think their fans will be turning their noses up at "scraping Europe and bombing out to Atletico Plumbers' Union" as opposed to "getting relegated and bombing out to Plymouth Argyle." Is this just bitterness because Sven's done at City - at least in the short run - what we hoped Fat Sam would do with us?

No doubt at all that Man U or some of the other cheaters would easily get away with this kind of thing. Man U almost certainly cheated to move their Stamford Bridge match last season back to a point where it wouldn't matter any longer, not sure how this is so different.
-
He was shocking as usual. I'm not sure why he still has apologists, it should be clear to all and sundry that he is awful whether at CB, RB, and now CM. Deadwood that Allardyce has burdened us with and now must be cleared along with Barton and Smith.

As said, FMtastic, looked class in the videos especially the first goal on the second video but I get the feeling it'd be a Luque redux.
-
Hargreaves (when not injured) is ahead of him in the pecking order, as is Scholes who has just returned from injury, and there's also Anderson. While he's enjoyed a fair run in the first team as of late I think it's coming to an end.

Translated if anyone was wondering: I'd have most of the players mentioned in this thread but Carrick seems an especially prudent capture to me, considering his Geordie roots and the fact that we are truly desperate for some quality in the center mid. Berbatov is wishful thinking if I'm honest.
-
I'll have Van Buyten (rock-solid) and then we can finally banish Rozenhal to the official "flops corner." Have we been linked to Arshavin anytime recently? Would like to hear if the interest has been followed up as he's class.
-
Defoe: No thanks. Not good enough for Spuds, frankly not good enough for us. SWP: I think wingers is one area where we honestly don't have problems (I truly expect a Duff revolution and then there's the Zog and Milner) but he's class and I'd have him nonetheless.

Lotbot's first post on this forum in the "Allardyce sacked" thread. Love how you pretend to be one of us and suggest Monkey's Heed as a manager. Get lost you wannabe sticky toffee bastard, you're not even good enough to be a mackem. You, of all people, should know how much it hurts to be bullied and persecuted on these boards. Shame on you. If I'm honest, it's more than a little different. I didn't come to these boards under false pretense only to abandon it and begin criticising the club left and right and looking for ridiculous arguments. This is a board to discuss Newcastle, not for glorious <insert also-ran club here> fans to come and troll (or WAB as I think you guys refer to it.) There's plenty of other boards for that.

GET IN MILNER! Looking familiar for Stoke no doubt, memories of 1995 recalled. Guess who was manager then? Guess who's sending you sad wankers home empty-handed again?

Some really spiteful stuff on the BBC commentary: Is the commentator a mackem? Or just another sad London bastard? EDIT: M-A-C-K-flippin-E-M

Are you Tribal? Are you Tribal? Are you Tribal in disguise? -
How about the man who nearly won us the title a few years back? You know, the closest we've come in decades? You just can't help yourself, can you? Short of Jesus Christ teaming up with Jose Mourinho is there anyone who might make you happy? As for me - GET IN! :nufc: Return of the King!

Le Fil De Deschamps In/Out De Fonctionnaire!
acrossthepond replied to Andrew Flintoff's topic in Newcastle Forum
geordienation-tastic. fat fred would've loved you mate. p.s. your player ratings are even worse than my "magness ratings." you think Given and Cacapa were worse than Smith v. Man U? Smith is certainly the worst player in black and white, both last game and this whole season. -
Le Fil De Deschamps In/Out De Fonctionnaire!
acrossthepond replied to Andrew Flintoff's topic in Newcastle Forum
I'll have him. While I expected our managerial search to descend into farce following 'Arry's refusal, I'm surprised and pleased that some actual names are being bandied about and we might somehow land one of them. Shearer will have his time but I don't think it's now. He needs to get involved with Hartlepool/Darlo/Carlisle etc. and get some hands-on experience while still staying on the radar and then move up. -
Borders on blasphemy. We would've gone down last season if not for Given and if you think we're bad now imagine what we'd be like without him this season. Distribution I won't argue with, he does seem to have trouble bossing his line but it's A, the language barrier and B, still working on relationships with 3-4 new defenders in front of him. James is a good keeper but very much getting on and prone to errors. When he's on, he's on. When he's not, it's painfully obvious. Carson has a lot to learn yet and I don't think Gordon will ever live up to the hype. Future Championship keeper in my opinion.

Hitzfeld, Houllier and Van Gaal now in the frame
acrossthepond replied to Tribal's topic in Newcastle Forum
I may just be dense - some will say there's no "may" involved - but I really don't see what's so funny about it, other than that some crackpots took many hours to put something completely useless together. p.s. we'll never get any of the names mentioned in the title. This is NUFC not MUFC. We'll be lucky to end up with Hughes. -
I want one right now tbh. Very brave of Smith, I don't mind that at all. For one we won't have the useless monkey on the pitch next game (and hopefully for the rest of the season) but that was never a goal and he had every right to stand up for his team. Not petty at all. Styles obviously told at the break, "Let us win or it's your job" and lo and behold. Several shocking decisions starting 3 mins into the half with the free kick decision. But nothing can mask how utterly shit we were today. Given sending it into Cacapa...I could not believe my eyes. I wanted the floor to open up and swallow me. There has to be change at this club and although we were never getting anything from this game with a caretaker manager and four players missing at Man U that performance beggars belief. Words can't describe what happened tonight. It's 5-0 to us all over again +1 and we'll never hear the end of it.

1st penalty not given and never was one, Ronaldo is truly scum. 2nd penalty not given but surely was, Smith clearly fouling Giggs. We scraped lucky but then... Our goal from Owen ruled out for offside although he was on. ...so, all things considered, going in 0-0 at halftime is just fine by me. Milner playing well, Enrique is looking great. Smith is still shit. Owen as a lone striker doesn't work.
