If you look at it from his pov btw, they've talked him out of leaving and making a fortune by going elsewhere, and then they've signed a load of forwards and he finds himself dropped. I mean it's not OK to act like a fanny, but combine that with having the news delivered to you by an anthropomorphic egg, and I can understand what's happened.

Apparently when we had to flog him, he wasn't thrilled and someone on the coaching staff sat him down and told him this would be the making of him. They said when you come through as an academy player at the club, it's hard to shake the reputation of being like the junior lad. Whereas he goes to Forest as a £35m midfielder and a senior player. (it was Caulkin who reported the above) He might take some convincing to get him to come back anyway, given the above. I'm sure he'd want assurances around and time.

Aye he couldn't get a game here last season. I don't know that that qualifies him to play for Man City. I think a good part of the reason people want him back is just cos we should never have had to sell him, so it puts that wrong right. If it's a choice between him and Tonali, we've already got the better player of the two.

It would have to happen at the expense of one of the existing players, ie one of them leaving the club, possibly for big money. I don't think he's gonna be happy at Forest though. Their owner is a fucking idiot who seems to enjoy destabilising the club. Must be a shit place to be at the minute and they aren't gonna be up in the top 5 challenging for CL places again, or playing in Europe next season.
