Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER
sammynb replied to Sonatine's topic in Newcastle Forum
Hope you are right. Btw I don't think Ashley is suing anyone now, I think he's been told to pull his head in otherwise they will never approve any potential buyer, hence why it is all very quiet now, especially when you consider all involved with football are crying poor and yet no one is willing to stand up and support the SA purchase (who would no doubt poor money into English football if they were let in). -
I watched the US remake last week and thought it was great. I then went back and started watching the original, which is beautifully shot and graded but has huge story points missing (characters just appear with no idea who or where they are from). There is significant story difference between the two versions but I would be frustrated as fuck if I hadn't watched the US remake who were clever enough to fill in those gaps.

How the fuck do the families of Covid 19 deaths still support Trump? Because they think he is going to earn them a dollar/maga! The world has gone crazy and I don't think football club owners are exempt from that stupidity - MA being our closest case in point. -

Andrew has Covid taught you nothing about humanities lack of self awareness or preservation when it comes to the mighty dollar? It's nailed on to happen because people are fucking stupid. -
Has been running rings around Peru this morning to the point one of their defenders laid him out with an elbow to the neck. And Suarez looks like he's taken up Micky Quinn all the pies diet (flicked over to the Uruguay game while half time for Para v Peru).

And it comes from the stem cells of an aborted fetus, wonder how he's going to sell that to his anti-abortion followers? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/oct/08/trump-covid-drug-developed-using-cells-derived-from-abortion

Neither can Pickford - oh well there goes his retirement plan. -
Beastie's punk stuff was always great live. The plague might be shit for everything in general but fuck it has thrown up some surprise musical releases. it's immaterial, (remember them manchester new wave band?) have finally released a new album House for Sale. This thing has been kicking about their lives for 20 odd years, was crowdfunded so they could finish it with those thieving cunts at Pledgemusic, who basically made off with millions of funds that was for projects like this and Swervedriver's last album. Now three and a half years later the band has found a way to fulfill everyone's pledge through their own funds and the my vinyl copy of the album dropped at my front door yesterday. So go out and buy a copy you slack bastids!

I found his web address so you can buy direct from Paul - http://www.crowtheraudio.net/buy-online/ Not sure if the price is US or NZ dollars but they are only $179, I'm assuming US.

A hotcake is an overdrive and a Prunes and Custard is a harmonic generator made by Crowther Audio. Paul Crowther was the drummer in Splitz Enz, one of NZ's biggest bands and he and his pedals are legends, also rare-ish. https://www.premierguitar.com/articles/5_Boutique_Stompbox_Builders_You_Should_Know?page=5 https://signalchain.com.au/collections/crowther-audio https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emlyn_Crowther

Plus in this day and age of switchable wattage amps there is no excuse (bar financial limits) not to have an amp that that suits you that can be both bedroom friendly and gigable. I had a Marshall 100w plexi head and box back when I was playing live in the late 80s/90s and tbh as brilliant as it sounded most pubs/clubs cannot cope with something that size off stage unless you are playing BIG venues and I can imagine in this day and age of noise limits for venues.
-
Not being funny but Andrew you are in the land of Hotcakes and Prunes and Custard, you so need to get yourself one or both.
-
@Alex was in Van Halen?!??

I must be alone as I was never influenced by EVH or any of the 80s cock rock guitarists. It's sad he died at just 65 and I hope he RIP - throat cancer is no way to go.

For all the auld cunts on here - yes I'm looking at you! The Psychadelic Furs Made of Rain and A Certain Ratio Loco both have new albums full of new material and they're decent.

Fucking hell, even Darlow would have stopped most of those! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmcpfOtusic

Condolences Fist, sounds like Fist Snr was good one, take solace that he's no longer suffering. And Renton sorry to hear about your sister's diagnosis, good luck with everything and as MF said don't be scared to let others help when and where they can.

Just to bring a smile to those of you that have no time or respect for cheating cunts like Smith, Cricket Australia is just about to be shafted out of the ridiculous fortune they were making from their latest TV deal. The only down side is Murdoch owns Foxsports, so that horrible cunt is saving more money that he won't pay tax on! https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/sep/15/relationship-further-stretched-as-seven-refuses-to-pay-cricket-australia-in-full

I'm quite proud to not know the answer to that question. But if I was to argue the toss B would be right no matter what!

It's an Eastman Hooky Bass 6 Pro, part of their bring it back custom shop guitars. They had access to Peter Hook's (Joy Division/New Order) original Shergold Marathon 6 bass which haven't been made since the 80s, think the bass sound on Blue Monday. Here's the full dets. https://eastwoodcustoms.com/projects/peter-hook-signature/
