Agreed, he scored two good goals against us about 40 years ago but he was massively overrated at Leeds (imo) and I couldn't believe Manchester United went in for him, half thinking it must have been out of spite due to the rivalry and he being the local hero. His reputation is a myth partly based on people hoping he would be the new Shearer as he put himself about a bit. I remember that one he scored after 20 seconds, was a brilliant goal to be fair, but we won 3-1, one of my favourite toon games ever that, had to meet my Leeds supporting brother in law after the game, what a bitter cunt he was that day "two shit sides" when we absolutely battered them. Think the other one you're talking about was a night game top corner volley down the Gallowgate. He doesn't drink neither which says it all. Your memory is much better that mine, I just remember him scoring two very good goals against us and thinking he would be one of those players that does (like Ryan Taylor I suppose). A shame both ended up here and not being up to much really.

Tiote and Barton out makes a HUGE difference because their replacements don't even come close (especially Smith), the defence is fucked without those two. It's like going back to the relegation season.

I dunno Khay We live in a really quiet area, close by woods and the sea. Other than locals walking their dogs its unusual for anyone to walk past, let alone trouble makers. We never heard a thing all night. We live on a large private estate (in the coach house part of it) so we have two huge gates and massive hedges all around... only the owner of the main house and his butler park their cars within the grounds. We park just outside in a lane. Think hubby wil bring his Jag in from now on, its old and not worth much at all but he loves it! Im just upset for my son, his race car engine blew up recently too! Trying to pick up on some of the historical references in that thread. This was in the thick of the "board wars" fallout iirc and a lot of it relates to HTT. I think he called this place a 'pale immitation' and kept claiming N-O was the 'oldest Newcastle forum on the internet' (despite it only being about a year old at the time). Does he have owt to do with N-O anymore? I've never even been on there so wouldn't know. Don't think so, too busy trying to hang the 12ft shark he bought from the ceiling of his bedroom now. We're definitely cutting staff in December like, worrying but if worst does happen I'll go it alone and definitely make more money by far long term. Sleepless nights at the minute for some of us though. I think half the country are worried about their jobs, I always thought the OB would be safe from these cuts but they're shedding 20% of the Northumbria Police, and me mate he's just bought a house with a 180k mortgage so hes shitting it. Aye up and doon but it'll be areet, the toon are keeping my spirits high at the minute though. Good luck, at least you have some plans in case it does happen. Cheers mate.
