Barton was 'forced' out onto a much better wage and is performing at QPR like he did his first couple of seasons here (according to their fans). We have retained those that really matter bar Enrique who would have left unless we offered really, really big money. Prefer to look at players we have got to sign new contracts like Jonas, Colo, Krul and Tiote.

Your green with envy, FTM!

I'm going in July, oh what could have been

I'm going out tonight, but luckily there's not a great chance there'll be retards sporting the God-awful tat hawked by Guiness where I go. I tell you what, it's times like this I'm delighted to be such a knob Indeed.

Great news Stevie.

Completely agree, it's a shame but I genuinely think this argument he has built up has ruined football a little for him. He is in a lose, lose situation. Still can't get over his response after the 4-4 with Arsenal where he said something like "why would I be excited about that, I have seen it all before". Seems to refuse any enjoyment now. This argument must have been going 5 years now (regarding Ashley) and 8(?) years regarding the old board. Not healthy.
-
He must know this argument off by heart now, does he really still need a forum to carry it on? He has probably found another Newcastle forum by now, one he has never visited before but is already telling them they were wrong and shouldn't have told him he was talking shit years ago.

I walked 30 minutes to a medical centre with a double fracture, they were useless and didn't know anything so I trained 4-5 times a week on it in agony and only went to the hospital about 3-4 weeks later when the pain got ridiculous. It's still fucked now because I didn't get it checked out properly as soon as I could. Proper hero me like, will be able to tell all the kids why I am on crutches when the arthritis sets in, fuck yeah, real man!!11

To be fair signing Cisse for £10m could be seen as an investment and Ashley hoping he does the same as Ba so without the knee fears we could double our money the way things are going. Signing a 30 year old to a lucrative 4 year contract with the option of a 5th turns things on their head however. Where is the resale value? Why not sell him now and get an average player in on a quarter of the wages? Doesn't make any sense if you genuinely believe our sole aim is to stay up. Will we sell players for silly money? Yes we will, like most clubs. Are we run too much like a business? Yes. Is Ashley in this for anything other than making a profit? Of course not. Doesn't mean it can't be successful, it's early days but we are doing far better than expected and have managed to pick up some very good players for very low fees. Obviously having vast sums of money to spend can help, if it is done right. We are never going to compete with Chelsea, Man U or Man C though which is why it's an unrealistic argument to say we will never do what we did under the old board, times have changed. It's not as straightforward as Leazes makes out though, we were still spending big money when the old board left and going backwards quickly. AVB spent loads at Chelsea and they have declined, the amount Liverpool spent in the summer they should be doing far better than they are doing, they will still be 2 points behind us if they win their game in hand.

Tbf It's not surprising LM will be brought up in situations like this, given he is often seeking to be the centre of attention when pointing out the negatives whenever he posts people will naturally notice his absence when something good happens and he doesn't have the humility to appreciate it
-
"Liverpool just cannot finish chances" If only they had spent £35m on a forward recently... "But he won a cup so it's been a great move for him"
-
I asked him why he didn't comment after we brought the Arsenal game back to 4-4, his answer was along the lines of 'why would I need to comment, I have seen it all before'. Not taking the piss either, seems to have himself so entrenched in the old board/new board debate that he no longer takes any satisfaction in anything going well for us any more. It's a bit sad really considering how much time, money and devotion he has put in to following us. He would be a hell of a lot happier if he just finally dropped the whole thing and concentrated on enjoying the good times. Not sure what he could possible deem as a negative from the Colo signing but I guess he will look at the Krul contract as just 'a guarantee of more money when we eventually do sell him'.

Couple of my mates went up too, said there were gangs of mackems 'hunting around' after the game looking for Arsenal fans Said they have never seen anything like it. As is so typical they stayed in Newcastle, got to Sunderland at the last minute and headed back to Newcastle as soon as the game finished, they got a taxi because they didn't want to wait for the metro

Completely agree.

and then the thread dies That's not to mention the practical 'lotto win' the club had with Carroll. 70% of the clubs on that list (conservative estimate) wouldn't have turned down that sort of money for a player in Carroll's position and invested all the money back into the side.
-
Look at those big spending Spurs cunts, with that lack of ambition they must be going nowhere.
-
As already pointed out, this is the same DoF system at Liverpool with Dalglish and Comilli that you're praising?
-
To bring this back on topic, did you read the Liverpool fans comments on Carroll Leazes? Talking about how they will need to buy another forward if the one they spent £35m for doesn't up his game. But he was part of a side that won a cup so he has obviously been successful You spend £35m on a striker, 14 months later you are talking about having to replace him if he doesn't up his game? Is he a success or failure? Take your time...

All the time This is one of the reasons I am glad I don't have an iPhone.

Good answer, as usual

You are such a blinded moron but yes it's been a great move for him so far. The fans all back him 100% and not one of them think he is absolutely useless, he has been putting in the performances expected from the most expensive British player ever sold and playing in this cup final is not papering over any cracks In other news Obafemi Martins was a much bigger success in England than Shearer was post Blackburn.
