Colo won't want to leave, he's on better wedge than he'd get elsewhere. If he's willing to play a season in the championship to stay on that wedge, then he'll have no problem playing in the top flight.

Surely any journalist prostituting himself to be controversial purely for the sake of it, by definition has no self respect? I can't believe you find it surprising Stevie. That's the majority of journos summed up. Most of the rest are sycophants. Look at Rod Liddle. The Sunday Times, which is one of the better papers imo, actually markets him as 'Britain's most controversial columnist' or similar. I find it incredibly tedious personally but obviously plenty mongs lap that shite up. Twitter goes in to meltdown every time Littlejohn puts pen to paper, he can't possibly believe all of the views he puts to paper as that would make him a fascist, racist, sexist fat c*nt, who repeatedly contradicts himself. Point is it gets people talking about the newspaper. Everytime I switch on TalkSport I almost fall in to the trap of responding to the idiotic stances some of the presenters take. If they took the moral, sensible view all the time nobody would call in...

Newspaper columnist in 'controversy raising' article shocker. His gaffer will give him a raise for the number of hits to the Express site man!!

Didn't know Ginola knocked back Barca to stay at the toon. That's very kind of him!! I hadn't seen this before and really enjoyed the show. Top boys, love the fact that Howey calls Ginola 'Dave'..

He does look better at centre half than at left back mind. Hughton did exactly the right thing bringing in cover for Jose's injury, if we'd lost another defender at that stage we were fooked. It's hardly a negative that the cover he brought in was a 'proper player'.

Andy Carroll, Nile Ranger, Kadar, Tozer, Edgar, Krul, Vuckic and Tavernier have all played come through over the last 2 seasons. I don't think we won't give promising players an opportunity, i just don't think the players are coming through, we haven't produced a decent central midfielder since Lee Clark.. Iirc there have been no examples in recent years of young players we've released who've gone on to play at the top level. Of the players you've named there only Andy Carroll has been given more than a handful of games in the first team. Of the rest the majority have played a handful of games or less for the first side. Ranger for example looked to be getting a chance to figure in the first team, and then in January Best was purchased. Kadar despite looking good whenever played couldn't get in the side ahead of a short term loanee in Fitz Hall. Vukic and Inman despite playing exceptionally well in the reserve/youth setup can't get into the first side even on the bench. Granted some of these players aren't vey old, but ifthey can't get a spot on the bench whilst we're in he Championship then what chance do they have in he Premier League? I think in part we're still suffering from the decimation of the youth setup as overseen by Shepherd. With the youth setup removed only players in the first team were considered with no real a emir to progress through. The paths are slowly being reopened, but so far it has been too slow for my liking. Yeah I don't disagree with you, but bringing through youth players that aren't good enough or aren't ready is not going to help them or the club. It's for young players to come in to the first team and play so well that they can't be dropped. Carroll has done that but I don't think that Ranger or Kadar have done that yet, admittedly they still look better than Hall or Best but not the first team incumbent. It would be nice to see Best get a goal before he is totally written off. Hope its just stagefright and that a goal will open the floodgates. Not convinced like. He has proved inadequate at CCC level for me. Chalk it off as a bad buy and get rid..

If JFK didn't have a dodgy ticker, god knows where we'd be...

I personally think the current set up would have kept us up. The workrate and confidence is on a different scale to the embarrassing displays under JFK/Big Al.

Lots of steroid and growth hormone abuse I think. It's a very gruelling schedule they play mind, something like 162 regular season games, not that that is any excuse of course. The number of games is just amazing. They're on at different times as well, so sometimes there'll be a game at 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon, how is the average working man supposed to get to that game??? Do people have season tickets even though they know they'll miss a load of games? I think it's a really good sport. I've only been to one (Yankee) game but I really enjoyed it.

What will you / wont you miss about the Championship
donaldstott replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
Will miss winning games, being first on the Saturday evening football show, Jonas looking effective, not having to shell out an extra £120 for a years ESPN subsription. -
Interesting to see Steven Taylor there last night. First public appearance since the scrap. The Sky shots were dark but I expected him to look worse. Couldn't see any bruising/damage at all!

you can't expect any manager to pull too many rabbits out of the hat if you don't supply him with the funds. FWIW, I think Guthrie is OK, not great, but shopping around the bargain basement when you are forced to do it........ Typical KK signing. Holds his head up, has a bit of ability on the ball and can see a pass. If only we had kept Bassong, Beye, Milner, Given, Zoggy to go with it......... In fairness I don't think Bassong has exactly been pulling up trees at Spurs. A full season has shown there is very little to choose between Given and Harper. Beye is tumbling down the wrong side of the hill. N'Zogbia wasn't exactly Mr Consistent and if you polled all 52k there wouldn't be too many felt 12m for Milner was not a deal worth doing.

I'm in the process of applying for a new job. I really don't like the sneaking around very much and the more senior you get the more you've got to do and the less time you've got to go for interviews. What's more I work for a very small co. with my MD 12 foot from my desk, so if my phone goes off and I run out of the office it looks hideously suspicious. Anyway, I sent the recruitment consultant an email this morning asking for feedback from an interview. Verbatim this is what I sent to her: "Just wanted to find out if there was any feedback from the interview. "I'm in the office today, so an email would be appreciated". Five minutes later she's phoning me.

Alex doesn't do hangover cures but if he did they'd be the worst fucking hangover cures in the world.

I think the following provides the basis of a team that will do alright in the Premier League. Harper New RB - Williamson - Colo - Enrique Routledge - Guthrie - New CM - Jonas Carroll - New CF I would be sniffing around Alan Hutton, who's not getting a game at Spurs. Alternatively James Perch. Cheeky bid for Dorrens at WBA or O'Hara from Spurs as well. In terms of Centre Forward I'd break the bank for Luis Suarez. /haven't a clue. -
I'm 32 as well, my stag do absolutely killed me for 4-5 days. It did last 3 days and was in Eastern Europe... I am finding my ability to drink quickly has diminished, I can no longer go out at 8 and have an absolute skinful by closing... Had a bottle and a couple of glasses of red wine last night and a can of lager and feel ropey this morning, young me would have laughed at old me.!!!
