1. I'm going to start putting what I mean in white text under my posts, just for you. 187339 I just brought him up so I could mention the thinly-veiled dig at him in Father Ted (Henry Sellars). That was class! 187344 The bastards Ted, they can't do this to me I'm Henry Sellars, i am the BBC!!!! Or something like that! As ever with Father Ted it was comedy gold.
2. You don't need anymore than those 2 quotes and Rowdy Roddy Piper having a fight on screen for about 20 minutes do you!!!
3. Out for my mates birthday, drinking till 3:00 in town as i'm off today (and the rest of the week!) On the way for a taxi saw some bloke lying on the ground in amongst some plants, fast asleep and he wasn't waking up! Luckilly some other bloke was phoning the police to make sure he got taken care of!
4. I think he will have an instant impact in that for the first few games there will be a lift to both players and fans which can affect results straight away. Before he was brought in i think it was nailed on that Wst Brom would win with a Phillips winner, but now i'm not so sure! In the long term i have no idea as he is working with some very poor players and who knows if he will turn out to be a Keegan-like inspired choice or if he will indeed become Souness mark 2! Here's hoping for another Souness
5. Have to be honest i was expecting him to join Owen since this is NUFC and thats the luck we have, so this is a massive relief, even if the defeat has been depressing.
6. It would be. Prove yourself to be the best over a long hard league season of every team playing each other home and away and then say, fuck that, the team who wins 1 or 2 games at the end is the best and deserves the title, absolute load of bollocks. They do it in rugby union and its a complete joke. The team who shows they are best and deserves the title goes straight into the "final", meanwhile the other teams in the play offs have to play games to get to the final. So the real champions sit their losing match fitness and sharpness whilst the team that faces them in the final arrive ready and having games under their belt and invariably beat the team who won the league. If you insist on doing it their is only one way anyone with a brain would accept. The team finishing first wins the championship/title then after that you have your play offs (whether it be 4,6 or 8 teams) and the winner of that is the play off champions and it has absolutely fuck all to do with the title, like they do in the British Basketball (where a Newcastle team wins everything!!!)
7. Subs: Luque, Harper, Taylor, Zoggy, Butt No Shola! 185906 He was rated as doubtful with injury. Also looks like Roeder favours the ex-players doing well agains their last club theory, picking Nobby and Milner against Villa!
8. corrections its: Muahahahahahahahahahahahaha !!!! 185683 And they have Man Utd at Old Trafford next 185693 I didn't know that, makes it even better. 185695 I don't mind Spurs, I quite like Jol plus my housemate supports them. But they are our rivals so I'm glad they lost. 185811 I don't mind Jol, but I absolutely hate Spurs aka the media darlings, where players like Jenas apparently become world-class players. It was painful enough last season when they were actually any good, let's hope their bad start continues. Forever. 185814 Yeah i like Jol, good manager and decent bloke and to be honest the players don't bother me either. But the fans are cockends and the cockney biassed media shoot their load over Spurs every year and every year they fall short of what the media and their fans tell the world they will do. So even though i thought they'd be a danger this season (and still may well be) i hope their run continues and that when we play them Duff scores the winner!
9. I see the standard of refereeing has been maintained today. Charlton v Bolton saw two players commit professional fouls as last man to stop a goal scoring opportunity which is a red card without question yet the ref gave a yellow both times. And apparently in the Arse v Man citeh game there should have been a pen but i missed the highlights on that one.
10. 'tis a cracking line, but I'm sure that was originally one of Shane Warne's lines on the cricket field.... Is Quinny guilty of theft? 185679 It was a South African batsman in response to Glenn Mcgrath when they played the Aussies. I think the rumour is that at the time McGrath's wife was ill and he didn't take kindly to her being mentioned!
11. I think we should try it, but cleverly change it slightly by playing one of the 5 further back, making it into a sort of 4-4-2 formation if you like!
12. Yeah, you can't rule that out, the smogs are his home team and he's played for us before and if you believe him wants to play for us again soemtime, so he could end up anywhere. Personally i think unless one of the teams i mentioned come in for him then its us versus Pool for his signature.
13. Our best season under SBR came from playing intertoto (and also getting knocked out of it when he played 3-5-2) meaning we hit the premiership at full speed. The difference this time round would be that we will have uefa games whereas that season we started well and didn't have the euro games midweek so got plenty of rest, but hopefully we'll juggle the two and make the most of both.
14. I can imagine that us, Pool and Smogs will definately be in for him and probably some other clubs as well. Since Arse, manu and Chelski probably won't go for him it'll be between us and Liverpool and you wouldn't blame him for choosing CL football and a possible shot at the tilte.
15. Very true, if we can put in good effort and get a win at Villa it sets us up for what is as good a game as you can ask for in Fulham at home and you could be sitting there with 9 pts from 3 games, compared to normal when we'd have about 1 point! The confidence a good start can give you is massive in football and its something we haven't had in a long while.
16. International teams should have no rights or power over players full stop as clubs pay their tranfer fee, wages, insurance and the like and in any other walk of life they wouldn't have any rights. To do it to a player who is retired is ludicrous even by football officialdom's usually moronic standards!
17. I alwasy fancy us to win at Villa, we have a very good record there. I think Martins will get off the mark first game and we'll beat them.
18. Are you sure, remember what Souness told you, Bellamy was almost singlehandedly destroying the club and only scores 7 goals a season, do you really want that back here?
19. He's scored plenty in the prem for ifferent clubs, he's a proven player at this level and they wanted a proven scorer so i don't think its a bad deal, but i would have expected more like £6m myself. He's 27 now so about at his peak and probaby nowhere near the trouble he was so i think Bolton will do pretty well out of it.
20. That doesn't mean anything, i invariably wear black, have alot of gothic metal albums in my collection and don't like the sun...but i'm not a goth! I may be a vampire though???
21. The bloke is arguably the best centreback in football, he transforms your entire defence by his presence. It would be a big gamble but on loan i just couldn't turn down the chance of getting somebody that good who in addition is already proven and at home in the prem. Obviously there's the chance he ends up injured alot of the time, but i'd still take the risk.
