Ballance always looks shakey as fuck to me but he scores runs. Vince needs to find a way to do that quickly or he's going to be out of the team. Eventually someone like Butler is going to play ahead of him.
-
He is a run machine but I don't think I've ever seen him playing at such a pace. Him outscoring Root is unheard of.

Looked awful whenever I've seen him. His record in the premier league was pony too. -
Moussa Sissoko signs for Spurs for like £30m or WatEVA

I suppose when you're as big a club as they are you can get away without scouting, especially pretty well known players.- 1745 replies

David Kelly replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
Apparently they'll pay £30m but not £35 but they might be willing to offer a player. It would say a lot about there scouting.- 1745 replies

Has he done well against good bowling though? It's all well and good doing well against an average Sri Lankan attack but if he's going to keep struggling when we play against top class bowlers we have a problem. Not sure who we have out there to replace him mind. But I still think we have a few issues with our batting line up.

Anita has been playing there in the first two pre season games so I would say we do.

Well it's not like there's anything happening with their club at the minute!

I fell asleep watching the second part of it. Not that I thought it was bad, I was just knackered after watching the third part of the OJ documentary. I expected to grow bored of it by now given that I've watched about four and a half hours of it. But it's absolutely brilliant.

I didn't see Close Encounters til I was in my late 20's and I thought (and still do) that it was superb. I hated 2001 the first time I watched it (probably for the same reason that I didn't like Blade Runner) but someone (probably Happy Face) put a link on here years ago, to a site with an analysis of it. After I read that I watched it again and absolutely loved it. Admittedly I was a bit pissed so I agree with Dr Gloom's suggestion. -
That would have made a brilliant twist at the end of the series.

Champion. Now we need to replace Gini's goals. Preferably with someone who can boss a midfield.

Did anyone notice we actually had a pre season game last night?

Hippo Heed appointed Engerland manager
David Kelly replied to Geordie1973's topic in Newcastle Forum
The complete lack of any suitable English managers to manage England is a concern. Allardyce and Bruce both have poor premier league win % after managing in the top league for plenty of years. Hoddle hasn't managed for years, saggy face is far too mouthy to be considered and has struggled in the later part of his career. Howe looks a prospect but is far too in experienced. We have no one at all who is used to managing at the top level. I read Lineker tweet earlier that all of the major European nations managers are home grown so we should do the same and if so Allardyce is the best bet. He doesn't seem to realise that all of these other countries have managers who are used to managing at the highest level not just scrapping agaist relegation. We should have been looking to bring in a quality foreign manager. It's no guarantee of success but it's more likely than with the dross they've interviewed. -
£5.5m gets you next to nothing in the premier league these days so I think it's a fairly low risk signing even if he turns out only to be of use to us for this season. If that's the case we'd probably get our money back selling him to someone else looking for promotion.

I think he's the type of player who is never going to be involved all the time in a game. To me he's like someone like David Platt. Unless he scored you never felt he had done anything. Good teams can acommodate such a player but we simply weren't a good team last season. If he'd stayed and played in the championship for us where we should be one of the strongest teams, I think he would have been superb and I think he'll do well at Liverpool. But if he's gone he's gone and £20m or so should provide us ample funds to bring in someone who's more suited to playing in a team at our level. Think he's brothers tweet is bad craic and disrespectful like.

Piss poor showing tonight. Might be a good thing.

This. We should have been constinuously developing our squad so that players who couldn't improve were replaced with ones of a higher standard. What we actually did was keep players who we couldn't sell on for a profit or didn't kick demand at transfer regardless of how that effected the team. By all accounts he's a leader though, which is something Williamson was definitely lacking. He shit himself when he had to play at home.

Interesting one. You'd assume if Citeh are buying him and loaning him out to a lower division team, they'd be expecting him to play regularly.

I watched this last week and really enjoyed it. Didn't think it was a patch on Dazed and Confused though which is obviously very similar in tone and by the same director. I also tried to watch Slacker, the debut by the same guy, the other week but really struggled with that. -
I don't really have an opinion on Fraser as a selector but I don't really see why a director or Middlesex should be involved with such matters.
-
Aye I thought I hadn't seen any new episodes of Father Dowling Mysteries for a while.
-
Watched the second part last night. My view of him changed quite a bit from the begining of the first episode to the end of the second. I really like how they link his story with the other events of the time. It really helps keeps you interested. I doubt they would have been able to keep it going for as many episodes as they did without doing it that way.

My guess was Pottsy as I assume the parents are already gone.
