Moussa Sissoko signs for Spurs for like £30m or WatEVA
David Kelly replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
He never looks like he has the ball under control. Even last night when he had a pretty decent game, his touch is poor. I agree with Fish that if he's motivated (which he won't be for us even with Rafa) he's a very useful player, but it's purely down to his physical attributes rather than ability. I'm happy with the stance that Rafa is taking with him mind. With some of the fees this summer there's no way we should be held to ransom by him.- 1745 replies

I thought he was better than this tbh.

He's not a good defender. He's good going forward and for large parts of the season he was our best attacker and attacking is a big part of a fullbacks job these days. But when you have a defence like the one we've had, his lack of defensive quality probably cost us more than his attacking ability gave us. Of course he wasn't helped by having that gutless cunt Sissoko in front of him. I'm not desperate for him to leave but I'll not be distraught over it.

The OFFICIAL Transfer Rumours Thread
David Kelly replied to Anorthernsoul's topic in Newcastle Forum
Always thought he was a decent player but never liked having a right footed leftback. I know plenty who thought he was gash though. I'm sure they'll be rewriting history quickly enough if they sign him. I've already heard some of them say how he hates us. -
Aye there's a couple of morons in there but mostly it's just piss taking. There's plenty of real things to take the piss out of them about without needing to jump on that though.
-
Think we're going to try and get to old Trafford and heddingly for a day of test cricket and I think there's a t20 at Durham so that will do us next year. Maybe the year after for edgbaston.

Santon signing for the tramps apparently. His last is from round here isn't she? Makes sense if so. I'm sure he'll be a world beater to them now. -

No nothing about Flint at all other than I've heard him linked with a couple of premiership teams (the tramps being one of them). -
That's a wind up man.

Grant Hanley looking the most likely. From what little I've seen/know about him, I think he'd be a decent addition to the squad at this level.

Ryder reporting that we've made an equiry for Hanley. -
Still far too south for my liking.
-
Shame the champions trophy games are all being played down south or I might have tried to get to one of those too.
-
Can't really see what else it could be. Glad they're giving Vince another try. He wasn't great against Sri Lanka but it's no point just bringing in a player for one series then ditching him.
-
Just in time to play S.A. next year. I think I'm going to try and get to Old Trafford and Heddingly for the tests next year. They're getting them at much better times than Durham and Yorkshire got them this year so we might have a chance of some good days out in the sun.

Well I'm pretty content that he hasn't been picked in thise squad. I think he needs to perform at first class level before he's considered. I worry with how well he does in the short form he may never get that much opportunity to play longer form and therefor never really develop like he could in that form.
-
I take it Jennings isn't eligible to play for England yet? He seems to be the form batsmen in the county championship at the moment. I think I read somewhere that he wants to play for England.
-
Think it was Nasser who was saying now is a good time to try Root at three after he's not had such a great (by his standards) series against Sri Lanka. He won't be concerned about moving from where he was doing so well. If it works it would solve a problem and make it easier for Butler to get back into the test team. I was quite surprised to find out Ballance bats so low for Yorkshire. When I've seen him for England he always looked like he was one of the top order grinders rather than a stroke player down the order. I guess that might have been the problem for him if he was trying to play something that wasn't his normal game.
-
He's the type of player we could have done with the last couple of seasons.
-
He was past his best when he arrived and he was never real top class before that. But he was a solid top league player and he did a good job for us in Division 2/1 when he was here.
-
He always looks terrified when he's standing at the crease. I don't think he's a bad player but and I've go no problem with bringing players back in, Bairstow has proven it can work, but a player should be earning their place through performances. Bell is doing much better than Ballance for example. Borthwick has been having a bit of a lean spell recently after a fantastic start to the season. That's probably come at the worst possible time for him. I've not heard of the other lad they've called up.
-
Ballance brought into the squad for the first test against Pakistan. Don't really understand that. Everytime I've checked a Yorkshire game this season he's been out single figures and he's not in the top fifty for batting averages in the county championship. Seems that there are better deserving of a chance.

Dortmund alledgedly interested in him. Hopefully we can have plenty of interested parties to drive the price up. I've no doubt he's on his way and I'd rather that than him stay anayway, so we might as well get as much as we possibly can for him.- 1745 replies

Not that they're obsessed or anything.

No one ever accused the tramps of having perspective. Or most of them knowing what the word means.
