First "proper" game Souness was in charge iirc. Gemmill was happy as owt that day, knew it all along.

We can't compete with the likes of southampton who can hang on to their star players while we have to let go gifted players like Hatem [/pardewism]

He could wear a sportsdirect.com sponsored baseball cap though and every week some other charvsuit from a tacky store...

It's vox stultorum tbh (Insert fitting picture from Life of Brian here)

Gemmill is hung like a chinese mouse.

I'd say Middlesbrough is rather unfair, but Meenzer is right. You can rather compare the football teams with both being seen as underperformers in relation to their fan base and potential. For those who go I recommend looking for small pubs in Buer (a part of the city close to the stadium) where you can mix up with locals who are rather likely to be very passionate about football (but not Dortmund).

Lasogga has decided that he wants to leave Hertha and join Hamburg permanently according to the German press, but the clubs still have to agree a fee. I doubt we will get him on the cheap but would have to outbid Hamburg.

Gladbach confirmed today that Newcastle won't sign de Jong as they didn't make use of an option to buy him.
-
IMHO the most remarkable thing is that he changed their style of play. That's where other managers like Klinsmann and van Gaal didn't succeed and therefore failed in the end. For me Guardiola is a very good example what impact a manager can have.
-
He didn't feature this season because Gladbach signed Max Kruse in the summer, who has been very good for them. As de Jong hardly had any preseason he fell down the pecking order, also because he didn't Suizid Favre's playing style. He wasn't prolific in his first season but had quite a few assists.
-
Dante did already have a very good season in his last year with Gladbach tbf. He and Reus were the main reasons Gladbach finished in 4th place tbh.
-
Strange that they haven't made new attempts to sign Derdiyok. He has been frozen out of Hoofenheims first team and has to train with the reserve team. He is challenging this in court and it became public that the club received loan offers of 500k from Hannover, Bursaspor and Juventus which failed due to his wages and because he doesn't want to play in Italy.
-
The squad is lacking depth, but there are enough players who should form a formidable first team most times and Pardew should foremost be judged by what he gets out of these players.
-
That's it. The problem is not the result but how we play. A loss against City was always very likely but the performance was just rank as well. And that's the continuity from last season tbh
-
Other teams won't be so wasteful and Krul will have worse games? D'oh!

Never have heard of it and can't think of a region here where they could be local food tbh.

Moussa Sissoko signs for Spurs for like £30m or WatEVA
Isegrim replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
With this logic we should keep the current players as well as there isn't any guarantee that we are likely to sign better players under Ashley and Kinnear.- 1745 replies

Maybe not on his own but in an offside position...

And that with Joe spending almost two years sorting the deal out...

He knows so much, he would have saved the world from the great depression if he hadn't been stuck in Nepal at that time... He was also awarded the Nobel prize in Economics three times.

It's how they explained the appointment iirc and was rather more meaning that they wanted to fulfil people's wishes than these wishes being openly expressed. It was when Ashley tried to be popular, something he certainly doesn't try to be any more
-
Wasn't Allardyce Shepherd's last appointment just before Ashley bought the Club? IIRC when they brought in Keegan they said that they wanted to bring in their own man and that they had 'listened to the fans'. Probably the only time they really did (Ashley certainly didn't keep his word when he said he listened to the fans and promised to sell the club) - and probably the only major decision they got right.
-
He's probably right with this though...
