I remember the poll tax riots. I was just a bairn (early - mid teens) and the police were chasing a load of us down by the University. When I started working (in 1989) I refused to pay and end eventually got took to court. Everyone was saying dont go, but in the end I agreed to pay a £5 a week or something. Cunts.

The main point I guess is that the squad needs to be stronger. I think we all agree with that. the only part we dont is that I think we need quality not quantity and you want both. Sure, in an ideal world we would have both but in a realistic world its unlikely.

Guthrie played a part this season so if he goes Id like him replaced. Xisco, Smith, Ranger & Lovenkrands can go and not be replaced imo. If Best goes then I think we need a new forward to replace him. But decent.

Dont think they would let Simpson go unless they were confident of replacing him. Ive never been a big fan of Best but he did score the odd decent goal. But him Ranger and Lovekrands (and Xisco) simply are not good enough and we need a good forward in.

15 or 20mins here or there has been perfect for him. He's turned in to a bit of a mountain. When we are done with the flair players its handy to bring him on to tighten things up a bit. Not going to score a lot but he's canny at holding it up etc. I have no problem in him retaining that role next season. My worry is more if we lose Cisse and Ba to the ACN for example that we are relying on Shola for 90mins. For that reason I think it crucial that if Smith, Ranger and Lovenkrands go (id also get rid of Best) that we replace these 4 with a decent forward to compete with the front two.

Of course they bought the league (as many do really) and they have spent more than most clubs will spent in the next 10 years doing so. While its easy to say "Id not want that to happen to us, Id rather win it fairly". Bollocks. I'd have us take any steps necessary to win something and of course I wish it was us.
