He didn't have that chance son, Liverpool weren't prepared to pay or put up the money needed that would have took him back to Merseyside.

How come? when I come it comes quietly.

Well you and I are not in the same frame of mind kidda!! I'd be really pissed off if he left......and would attach a lot of blame to him if it was his decision. Sure we've had a bad season and for the most part a team lacking mediocrity but his absense could account for part of that scenario. With him in the team we may have done a lot better, at the very least scored more goals than we have. The facts are; ........ he was unhappy at Madrid, we bid for him, paid 17 million quid for him, he chose to come to Newcastle. Based on that alone I think he owes us at least one season in a Black 'n White shirt, and if he is a man of stature he will give us that. The fact he got injured playing for England was not his fault.....nor was it ours. The summer may bring in better players, we may have a better team, we may have a better season, and he should be here if it happens.........he owes us that much.

OWEN.....not too bad on his first start after so long but lacked the service he needs. MARTINS.....poorer than usual, thought he'd been taken off at half-time cos he was invisable. SIBIERSKI........usual try hard stuff but no end result. EMRE.......nowhere near as good as he could be. DYER.....DIRE! should have ran Reading ragged with his pace. ZOGGY.......close to being useless when he could have shone. MILNER.....same-O same-O, lots of endeavour but few good balls in. SOLANO....usual stuff, had a decent game. BRAMBLE......usual stuff, say no more. TAYLOR.......fair but not as good as he was last week. CARR....fair but his efforts to get forward often stranded him. HARPER........not the sharpest knife in the drawer last night. AMEOBE.......hip or no hip looks just the same. ROEDER....oh dear me.

More than very strange, more like weird. 5th. place, 2 games left, probable UEFA cup entry, and no reason given, WEIRD!

Well he's certainly a better chewer than Roeder, even better than Ferguson! He's got to be the best chewer in the premier league, chews with his mouth open too, ugh

I think it has a lot to do with your own personal feeligs about where you are from and what you are in spite of family indoctri-nation, and how egotistical you are. Have a friend here in California whose father & mother were born in Ireland, his two brothers and one sister were born in Ireland, he was born in Newcastle and his family came to California when he was fourteen. As far as he is concerned he is a Geordie first, English second, supports Newcastle, and if there were a friendly kick-around between English and Irish lads and the Irish were short on players he wouldn't suddenly become Irish. Vinny Jones played for Wales simply because he knew he would never be picked for England. I don't think he had ever seen Wales before he went to practice with the Welsh team.

Very true, a lot of sloppy passes but a good performence never the less. Dyer was a tad disappointing and perhaps Carroll should have come on a little earlier. Bramble did surprising well and so did Carr, Taylor was more than canny. I really expected we would lose but hey! this is Newcassel -

Out for the rest of the season according to BBC news. So how many are going to be missing on Sunday? Dyer? Sibierski? Parker? Moore? Emre?

I think the family name is actually Duffer but in order to fit in Damien anglozised his surname by dropping the 'er' which is a pity because he is turning out to be a real duffer.

IMO introduction of Luque at this stage is another Roeder show of incompetence. He should have brought Babayaro on, moved Carr to the right and allowed Nobby to move forward. -

Thankful for small mercies, it's only one nowt at half-time. If the 2nd. half progesses like the first it shouldn't leave any further doubts, in anyones mind, that Roeder is the wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time and is......................................wrong for us unless he can evoke a spirited performence with a dressing-room bollicking. -

He should get some playing time in our remaining games, certainly ahead of Luque.

He didn't, it's a new style of shin-guard he is trying to market in case he ends up on the dole and needs a side business to provide income to support his lifestyle.

Eriksson heads list to replace Roeder at unsettled Newcastle
Noelie replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
Frankly I thought the Swede was more of a Turnip as England's manager. Too late substitutions and player favouritism is akin to Roeder, his insistance in playing an unfit, out of form, below par Beckham was diabolical. His inability to see that Lampard & Gerrard did not make a suitable pair in midfield was abysmal and his clone McClaren is following in his footsteps to failure. -
Hubbard says Roeder's right to be paranoid.
Noelie replied to acrossthepond's topic in Newcastle Forum
I agree with 'acrossthepond', a pretty good and true assessment of a current situation. -
For reasons already expressed by others, I don't think he's had a fair crack o' the whip in a stable back four. I think a run of 3 games as a starting central defender along with Taylor, with Nobby on the right and either Carr or Babayaro on the left should establish whether he has any merit to be kept on. It's not like he's a novice such Edgar, Hunty, or Damage, he's got some World Cup, International, and Belgian League experience on his track-record which should lend him some credence but if he can't show his worth in 3 games on the trot then I say dump him.
