  1. Blunderland's loss kept them below us but Hughton's Norwich getting an away draw with Everton put them above us. We are sinking, 14th place and the Southampton game gaining importance and somehow I think they'll beat us. Time to see what Pardew can do inn a troubled spot.
  2. Despite the goal the first half was a dismal performence overall. Second half was abyssmal and the warning signs were there and we were lucky to get a draw. Sammy has been getting the accolades but today he was rubbish, he must be colour-blind and can't tell who's on his side. Must admit my faith in Pardew is beginning to wane if that's the best he can do at home against that kind of opposition, it should have been a cake-walk. The second-half was painful to watch.
  3. Norwich 1. Manure 0 Equal on points to us. Bring back Hughton.
  4. Positive notes; No yellow card for Tiote. Anita looked a bit more settled. Marveau looked decent when he came on. BenArfa worked harder, tried harder. Santon put in a good shift. Ba added to his total.
  5. Willo is woeful. Sammy's final touches are woeful. Simpson's crosses are woeful. Pardew is beginning to look woeful. Krull's clearance was woeful. Woeful result. Woe is me.
  6. What bothers me most is that overall we have some decent, talented players but sadly there is no consistancy in their performences as a team week by week. We have the same players as last season but you wouldn't think so by results. Cisse is turning out to be a dud in regards to his efforts of his half season. Cabaye seems to have lost his best efforts somewhere. Santon is improving game by game. Not sure of Anita's quality. Wilson & Willo don't belong as first team starters. Shola never changes, and that's not good. BenArfa is a quality player. Ba can be better with the right service and strike partner. The Hammers were there to be hammered but our journeymen looked like they were on strike.
  7. I'm with Pardew 100% on this, when you're playing crap and you're losing at home the right thing to do is put Obertan in. His aggression, perfect crosses, jinking past players with pace, and his tireless work-rate from end to end, is a joy to behold.
  8. And wouldn't you know it, ......... Nolan did us in.
  9. I wonder if Saylor & Willo will be able to handle Carroll. Might be a bit of argey-bargey with Saylor & Carroll if past differences play a part. Must admit I'm always a little concerned about ex-players scoring against us.
  10. Another game we could have won or could have lost but in reality should have won as the chances were there. Obertan had 2 good chances early on but muffed both of them. There was too much fiddling around in the box when shots should have been taken. I'll settle for the point though.
  11. According to BBC Sports online, Michael Owen tweeted that it was definitely not a straight red card. for Colo.
  12. I'll gladly take the 3 points but we didn't deserve them after such an incompetant second half. It looked like the first-half team had stayed in the dressing room and their counterparts were awful.
  13. Didn't see it as an attempt to win the ball but rather as an attempt to recover the ball after losing it when fouled for which there was a free kick in our favour. He went to play the ball not Fletcher, and Fletcher came in like an express train and played the drama queen. It was not a straight red card not sure even a yellow.
  14. A truly well deserved point, unfortunately it wasn't three but can't I fault Ba for being in the box to defend. The red card was a little harsh, a yellow would have been adequate. It wasn't deliberate and Tiote was coming off being fouled himself and we got the free kick for that. The refereeing had the earmarks of being one-sided throughout. I will continue to question Pardew's vision everytime he puts Obertan on, especially when you're down to 10 men and trying to hang on to the game.
  15. Very discouraging to see two gifted goals from corner kicks and allow ManU to play keep away for 15 minutes. Our strike force don't seem capable of lighting a match. There were chances but we struck-out. Overall, barring the first 15 minutes or so we didn't play too badly and Cleverleys goal was questionable but there's no such thing as a bad goal intended or not. Bigi and Anita looked out of their depth when they came on, Shola was his lumbering self. Ferguson's deliveries were below par today, and I question his defensive capabilities.
  16. Perhaps giving out 8 year contracts was a little premature after our woefull display against Norwich followed by an even more woefull display against the bottom of the league team Reading. On a brighter note, we've helped them move off the bottom to second bottom. On a less brighter note, they outplayed us and looked a better team than us for almost 90 minutes. I can only thank God and Bah that we salvaged a point from a match that most thought was a sure 3 points. Smile everybody, you too MT, at least we didn't lose and that's a plus.
  17. As the seccond half progressed it looked more and more like we would squander the 3 points. Tiote was a near disaster for us when he came on and true to form got a yellow. What's with Obertan & Pardew, does he look so good in practice that he has to be played.
  18. And so they should be at my age Mr. Fish. Time is running out and nobody is perfect but being a seasoned owld Geordie with high expectations is close enough.
  19. You got that right CT. MT is predictable isn't he.
  20. That was wot I would call a very depressing dismal performence. Can't say that any of the young guns impressed enough to warrant a place in the first eleven.
  21. Must criticise Pardew for starting a 4 - 5 - 1 formation which within minutes was proving that five across the middle was not containing Everton and did little to help the back four who were all at sea. He should have NOT have waited until halftime to go 4-4-2. Don't think their goal was offside, and the ball was over the line, but I'll take the point.
  22. Just back from the Toon, was at the Spurs & Villa games and from what I saw it is going to be a long hard season. However, being a Newcastle supporter has always meant a lot of pain & suffering.
  23. I don't care wots on the tickets as long as I get at least one when I plant my feet in Gosforth on Friday. I'll be back 'home' until Sept. 10th but sadly there are only 2 home games while I'm back. .
  24. Only someone of your level of intelligence would construe my comments as always complaining. ( I put this in block letters so you could complain again)
