We need the 3 points from this one or we'll be slipping down the table.
-
Aye, it is for a 27 year old.
-
Very pleased with the result as the second half was mostly one-way traffic headed towards our goal and a bit nail-biting. I think Hughton was too slow in taking Shola off as he wasn't contributing much. Carroll did OK but he's not getting the service nor support he needs. Guthrie and Routledge didn't shine. Tiote is good but he scares me on occasion with his ball losing. When Chelsea scored I thought it was going to be the end for us.

I believe we have the nucleus of a decent team. We have shown that in the Villa, Sunderland, & Arsenal games, but our biggest problem is: and it's synonymous with Newcastle, we lack consistancy. We are like a yo-yo when it comes to week by week performences. I don't think it's so much of a slide, we just keep shooting ourselves in the foot.

It's been suggested I should go visit, and watch the match in a local hospital ward.
-
Sorry to keep you waiting Alex but they had to take me to the hospital after the 5th. goal and I've just got back after undergoing treatment. They diagnosed me as having suffered an instantaneous attack of overwhelming depression brought on by sheer disappointment and disapproval of a performance over which I had no control. The attending doctors have ordered me to bed and to avoid television/computer viewing until I feel well enough to absorb the same trauma again.
-
Well it certainly fucked up our goal difference.
-
Mr.Fish, I was positivity pleased with Carroll's debut performence albeit the service to him was poor and I don't think he's at his best as a lone striker. However I was not pleased with England's overall performence, from the kick-off the Frogs were just a better team and deserved to win. AND, I still think Capello should have been fired after the World Cup.
-
It may well be an age thing Mr.Fish, everyday above ground is a good day for me so perhaps I expect more than I should. I was pleased with the Villa match cos I was there, and I was pleased with the Blunderland and Arse n'all games so don't be so cruel with your criticism. Aye, but you never post positivity. Well he's 73. You're allowed to be officially negative when you're that age. Actually 77 next month I'll be 78 WDP. Positivity Mr.Fish.

One point from 2 winnable home games, one goal in 2 winnable home games. Not what you would call an uplift of good vibrations. And now we'll be without Barton & Tiote for the next match. FUCK
-
You mean that bloke at right back
-
Same old story, typical Newcastle, raise your spirits then dash them to the ground.
-
I don't know why I keep saying Wilson instead of Simpson. There must be a reason but I'm damned if I know what it is. Instead of everyone referring to him as Wilson I'll just say the bloke at right-back in future.
-
Krull is doing well, brought off a great save which may have made all the difference. I've never thought too highly of Colo but the last couple of games and especially today's game has shown he has the attributes to be a really good and cultured central defender. Williamson is increasingly proving to be a very good signing. Enrique, no need to say anything about him other than he's goood. Wilson, drops the occasional clanger but he's knocked Perch off his perch. Tiote, is definitely an asset to the team but he does scare me sometimes when he is pirouetting and losing the ball. Barton is showing what he is capable of and doing well on the right, hope it continues. I think Nolan is doing better in the position he is now, perhaps because of his guile and experience he doesn't need the legs. Jonas blows hot and cold, just wish his final touches would improve. Stroller is surprising me, just hope he keeps it up. Andy Carroll is not surprising me, always felt he could develop into a good No.9. And then there's Hughton, maybe he has the ability to be a good Premiership manager for us. I was glad to see he started the same team and didn't revert to a solitary striker. As for the team as a whole, I thought everyone put in a good shift, and if we can play consistantly like we did today and get the results we should finish a damned sight higher up the table that most were reconciled to.

Ootism FTW OOCish tbf. Noelie you old bastid, which half of '32 (31/32 or 32/33) and someone will work it out for you, a bit like those nurses and your meds! Barney worked it out, I'll take the 5th. Those nurses are quite accomodating. -
I do. .......... of course I want a win but I'd settle for a draw based on our home record so far this season.

Haven't a fucking clue and can't be boshed to find out. But I know we won the Cup, 1932. -
Peter Beardsley isn't management material Tom. Seriously. He isn't Perhaps not, but his wife might be.
-
In retrospect; Wasn't Sir Bobby sacked after 4 games into the season. How does Hughton's 4 game start compare? If we had lost to Wigan that would have been 5 losses, 1 draw, 2 wins, and 3 of the losses would have been at home. Managers have been sacked with better records than that. Perhaps Colo possibly saved Hughton's job with his stoppage-time goal. Now we play the bottom team, I think a loss here will ripple some waters.
-
We deserved a point purely because we got the ball in the net twice in 94 minutes. Other than that Wigan deserved to win because they were better than than the home-side who lacked everything you need to win. Lifeless, creativityless, idealess, about sums up the display today.

Get in, you're back. Watch the game did you? Ameobi played well. Yes I watched the game Besty and I still wonder wot Hughton was thinking of by playing Ameobe ahead of Carroll. Ameobe may have done alright in the first half but he faded badly in the second. Stroller is not the kind of player you want up-front on his own with Nolan as support. How many games have we lost playing with one up front? I'd be happy with two up front, delirious with three. I know I'm old but I don't reccomend going back to five forwards but I wouldn't turn my nose up at a 4 - 3 - 3 formation.
-
Ameobe ahead of Carroll, wot the hell is Hughton thinking?
-
Even though Ameobe scored 2 in his last outing I would not have put him in. I would have taken Nolan off and put Lovenkrands in. I would not have taken Tiote off. % yellow cards in 5 games and now an own-goal winner. Perhaps Taylor would be a better choice than Perch. Lots of possesion in the first half but no real threat on goal. Barton had a decent game. Still have to question Hughton's ability to make the right substitutions at the right time.
