Banana splits was great - I've got a few downloaded somewhere. I liked the Gerry Anderson stuff and remember thinking in hindsight that whoever thought of putting stubble on Captain Black to signify he was a villain was an absolute genius - especially so given he was a puppet.

The standard was a classic yesterday stating how the non-dom thing would almost destroy London. Tbh I don't really care whether it raises or costs money - it's about stopping cunts taking the piss.

I remember Skippy - though it did share a lot with the Lassie premise of "What's that Skippy, Timmy is trapped down a well?" Etc etc.

The boomerang was sort of electric I think which makes it more dodgy and they chewed "oxygum" to enable them to breathe underwater.

When I was nine, on the Friday everyone broke up for the six weeks holiday, we were playing cricket in the back lane when my mate advanced down the wicket trying to hit the ball and succeeded in whacking me in the mouth with the bat. It split my lip and I had to have two stiches but thinking back it couldn't have been that hard as I didn't lose any teeth or need an xray for a broken jaw. Pisser was I wasn't allowed out for two weeks of the six weeks holiday (for no logical reason I can remember) - seemed like a lifetime at the time.

I suppose if I mention a Japanese produced cartoon called Marine Boy it will be beyond the memory limit for everyone else (apart from TP, Rob W and Noelie who are proably just too old)

Going to the beach and actually swimming in the sea during the summer with scant regard for weather/sea conditions. Challenging other groups of lads to a game of football, sometimes never to meet again, sometimes becoming mortal enemies and sometimes making friends you've still got decades later.

Yes I got that so no problem - I was just talking in general about installment based media which yours is an example of. As I said I did find it reasonably enjoyable. Do you have the whole story arc mapped out in your mind or is it an episodal creation process?

I finished this the other night. As others have said the spelling/grammar thing is a bit annoying (and easily solved I think) but it became less of an issue for me as I progessed through the book. Overall I found the characters quite likeable and the story/premise quite intriguing - anything which has any kind of church or religion as the baddies is on a winner with me. The only thing is I'm an impatient bastard - I've read a few book series and indeed watched a few TV series where I've waited until the whole things finished before starting it as I don't like having to wait/weeks/months/years to see how it pans out or indeed ivest in something which is canceeled or left unfinished. The concept would work well for me if you were releasing installments on a regular basis and this starter did do enough to want me to know how it pans out but a vague "sometime in the future" is a bit disappointing.

The shit cunt will wind them up at ht and Dean will continue as he's done in giving them everything and send a couple off. What this derby really needs is Obertan.

I got an email from Trip Advisor with "top ten weird hotels" and "top ten hotels with stunning views" and a couple of other similar lists. One of the stunning views was a hotel in Bora Bora (French Polynesia) so I searched for a trip there just for a laugh. It came back with a weeks trip including flights (economy) which take 30 hours each way (via LA/NZ) for 11 fucking grand - a few other hotels in the same place are all the same price (and more). I'm all for luxury-ish holidays but that's a different league.

Cleadon, Whitburn and the Boldons are South Tyneside despite the postcodes - there's only really Ashbrooke that's comparable with Gosforth or Jesmond.

Not like anyone else ever fiddled results and hid benefits.

I disagree - as she say's the reason so many people accept the status quo is bacuase the bastards have "bred" a cap-doffing, subservient attitude to the upper classes and the rich embodied by the royals. "Rich people = good, poor people = bad" maybe simplistic but that's the ideal attitude. The bankers et al are just the modern lords and nobles - above and beyond the law.

Do pilots have a mental health check programme? I can see why the locks issue is a hard one - a combination override would make it vulnerable to threats to reveal it.

Using one record attendance instead of continuous trouncing of their average year on year is as contrived as the mackems using "titles are worth more than cups" i.e. fucking desperate.

I think the BBC bought them out for shit loads and then paid large salaries so they could own the overseas revenue.

Chicken and egg - stupid name or being stupid.

I always thought the brat pack was synonymous with John Hughes. Haven't checked the correlation tbf.

Good to hear - congrats.

Ally Sheedy before they ruined her is fucking lovely and the upskirt of Molly Ringwald is a cinematic marvel.

Infinitely enhances the "he's one of our own" chant like.

I agree that he shouldn't be the one scapegoat. I'd like to see the political angles addressed and the coppers who lied in the aftermath prosecuted. Of course one of the reasons this took so long was to give some of those involved the chance to die. This approach is currently in place for the establishment child abuse allegations.

For being caught obviously.
