I think my brother might be in the scenes filmed at Gala Tech... that kid Beebs, his real name is David Ross, he was in my brother's year at Kelso High. Fuck knows what happened to him... I remember watching that and the follow up, years later, where John seemed to be doing alright. I think the condition led to his parents splitting up. It was so misunderstood back then. There’s a scene where I think they were having a fish supper or something and John just spits a big mouthful of food out on to his plate. And you got the distinct impression his dad would’ve gone ape shit but for the presence of the cameras. I suspect a lot of parents from that era would have been no different and would have struggled to cope. Thought the first episode was pretty good with a good twist but every episode since managed to get worse and worse. Soap opera shite, nonsensical twists, the dialogue and acting somehow getting worse the longer it went. Fucking shocking. I started Foundation the other day after stalling HARD on season 4 of For All Mankind - watching some unlikeable character that I don't care about having a Mars based employment dispute can fuck all the way off. It's on Prime, and it's MGM (aka Amazon) so of course one of the main characters is an Amazon driver who wears his uniform with the "Prime" logo in view throughout. And OF COURSE they eventually defeat the baddies by ordering something to be delivered by Amazon drone. And I'm not sorry for the spoilers because it is impossible to spoil this film.
