I love how there’s a few thick cunts arguing it’s been a success because of all the ‘bites’. As if posting something stupid then having loads of people pointing out precisely how stupid it is (including some of their own fans) represents some sort of victory. #mackemlogic :D

Everyone knows where they are.

They’re on Netflix in League One, the third  division. The modern football version of shameless.

:good:

Spot on, MF.

Pretty hilarious reading that with them talking about not being able to compete financially and not wanting to buy victory anyway - given they currently have the largest wage bill in the entire league by quite a distance!

In the old days Liverpool and MUFC used to buy the league as nobody could compete against them financially. They just dont like it now cos the game’s been changed through foreign money

I think even when Arsenal were winning things with a lot of bargain buys (relatively-speaking) in Wenger’s early days as a manager there they were still near the top in terms of wages paid.

Honestly these days even if you had the best scouting network and academy and put together a whole team of world beaters on the cheap their agents would have you bumping their wages routinely to ensure they could skim their lump off the top. So before you knew it you'd be paying market value for players even if you'd brought them through the ranks or found them in a tin-pot league.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the transfer windows post COVID-19, you would expect the loss of revenue would flatten the market particularly at the level just below the world class players.
