Christmas Tree 4567
Fuck knows how we set up for this one! How have teams had more success against them? Quite hoping we go out to play, but fear Pardew will insist we sit back, defend first and rely on hoof ball breaks. He should pick his first 11 today, stick to one formation, hopefully 4231 and let the fuckers practise it all weekend. Krul Simpson Williamson Coloccini Santon Tiote Anita Hba Marveaux Ba Cisse
Dr Gloom 21692
if i were pardew i'd pack the midfield and drop cisse. ba to play the lone ranger role, ben arfa given license to float, jonas, anita and tiote to shore things up.

loonyTOON 10
I would rather see him drop Jonas, Simpson and Williamson and lose. Because at least we would know he has acknowledged their lack of anything in this team. I'd like to see: Krul Tavernier, Perch, Colo, Santon Anita Tiote Bigi Ben Arfa Marveaux Ba
loonyTOON 10
I don't believe in this "he's young and needs breaking in slowly" bollocks. Bigi is twice the player Jonas is in the central 3 midfielders role. Get him on and let him play. He has shown he is more than ready.
Alex 34417
A bit like Ferguson at home to Man Utd. it's not really the game to be throwing young uns in at the deep end. It's not fair on them for a start.
Kevin Carr's Gloves 3758
This game reminds me of something that happened a couple of years ago when I was working at Reliance organising prisoner movements in and out of Hospital and making sure prisoners in Hospital had officer escort. We had got a call from the Bar L to say a guy had been given a doing over and was away to hospital. I called two officers at their bas and told them the ward and the guys name and asked them to call me when they took over. I got the call from one of the officers about an hour later and she asked me how old the lad was. I advised about 35 and asked why and she said he looked about 90. I asked what had happened and she said the guy was in the showers and had got a complete kicking with broken nose, ribs eyes black, he had no teeth anyway so at least they couldn't knock any of those out. She then said but that wasn't the end of it as it looked like after the kicking somefucker had decided to rape him as well. So when this poor fucker was lying on the tiled floor bleeding and in agony someone had come along and thought "go on then I might as well". I see us as the guy on the shower floor and Man City as the horny other prisoner with no scruples or morals.

PaddockLad 16815
Vincent Kompany is injured and a major doubt.....if we can the ball off the fuckers I think we might nick a goal or two. Theyve looked far from conviincing this season iyam.
Mac-Toon 1
It's all well & good saying to start Marveaux & Bigirimana, but we all know there's not a chance Pardew will drop Jonas ahead of a "big game". Unfortunately for us, Barry has accepted the charge from the FA so will miss the game. Kompany not 100% and likely to miss out. They'll play Kolo Toure with Nastasic which should give us hope we can threaten them. The whole game will be won/lost in midfield. I can see Mancini starting Tevez & Aguero, who will have Williamson's pants down if he starts. I'd drop him & play Perch next to Coloccini. He's better on the deck than Williamson & we know Man City aren't going to be lumping the ball into our box. Hope we go; Krul, Simpson, Colo, Perch, Santon, Tiote, Jonas, Anita, HBA, Ba, Cisse. We can get a result against these no doubt, IF we protect our full backs, unlike what happened at Fulham. 1-1 prediction.
Tom 14010
Aye that was mad! You had people shouting at Jonas & calling worse than shit MEANWHILE...Santon is attacking like mad & never tracking back. Simpson was just as bad. When you looked at Fulham they had an obvious defensive shape - 2 rows of 4 whenever we attacked. I couldn't spot any shape from us at all, we were all over. David Kelly 1208
I'd be pretty happy to go with CT's team. Anita looks at his best when he's part of a three man midfield and the only player who's played well for us on the left for the last twelve months or so is Ba. I know Cisse is playing shit at the minute but if we left out players that weren't playing well we'd only be left with Santon and Ben Arfa! At least we know that in the past we have been able to play well like this and given the players available I think it's our best option. Ba will be away next month anyway by the looks of it so we might as well try and get Cisse ready for then!

David Kelly 1208
Well that would be my biggest worry like. I fully expect Jonas to play but the way he's playing this season I have no expectations of anything positive from him!
loonyTOON 10
Chronicle reporting Ben Arfa is a doubt of this game. Mind games from Pardew I think, make out we're a wounded animal but really we're going to bite citae's face off!
Brock Manson 0
Unlucky not to get anything out of this fixture last season, but we were less injury plagued. Would take a draw definitely but I'd rather see us go for it than try and sit back and defend. It'd be a training session for them otherwise. StoneColdStephenIreland 74
Want to see us go 4-3-3, if we go 4-4-2 it'll give them too much room and Toure will run the show from midfield, which he probably will anyway. I'd also bench Cisse as both him and Ba wont see enough of the ball in the game so I'd just stick with Ba. Keep the same back 5 with Tiote, Anita and Jonas CM's With Marveaux and Ben Arfa on the wings

What I hope we don't see is long balls aimlessly hit up the pitch. It's ugly, it gives them more possession and it's ugly.
Aeris 0
It's really bad we're stuck with Willo in defense, and Simpson... there are no easy replacement for those two idiots, but with those two this is sooooo lost game for us. (Perch? cant mark, cant jump more than 1 inch off the ground, cant head a ball) (Ferguson? he's nothing when it comes to defending) (Tavernier? shit) Our only option for getting rid of Simpson is making Anita play fullback... actually that's the only thing a guy with his height (just about my height actually ) is good for against a team like City, so hell, let Anita play back... I have no idea how to solve the Willo problem though... we probably just have to let him play for now, unless Tavernier or Good proves more worthy centre backs all of the sudden. But I do agree if Tevez and Aguero starts there's no chance in heaven he's gonna be anywhere near getting the ball away from their feet. Krul Anita Willo Colo Santon Tiote Bigi Perch Ben Arfa Marveaux Ba Anita and Santon will be running to deliver the crosses. Ben Arfa/Marveaux operating more in the creative centre rather than on the flanks is a good thing, since there's not much delivery when we play wingers anyway....
