As much as I want Ramsdale to do well - I do think that we tend to forget that he's a relegation specialist.

Hoping im wrong, mind; but he looks a bit of a broken man to me.

He really doesn’t like catching the ball either.

sorry for multi-threads - yeah , hearing this a lot and I agree - but I've also thought No keepers are catching the ball anymore for quite a few years - not sure its a Pope thing.

it does my head in, its all punching and its shit.

If Pope starts at weekend it’s 50/50 good/bad game and if starting he better pray he doesn’t drop one, cos you can guarantee Everton will try put him under pressure…..Let’s not take that risk DROP HIM NOW

if I was pope I'd probably be asking to be taken out the firing line at this point.

straight of the top of me head i can think of 6 absolute howlers he's made that's cost us goals this season.

and before anybody pipes up with him having made some decent saves too...

good, that's his fucking job.

his ludicrous decision making has become a massive liability, last night's wasn't an anomaly, he's done similar on multiple occasions when coming out his box.

Alright, Roy Keane...

Tindall must have hit him hard with that right boot.

He must have dug himself a canny deep hole after fruitlessly screaming at Aubameyang. Howe's withholding his ladder privileges until he says he's sorry.

Well, the people get what they want - we'll see how Ramsdale does.

I think this is possibly the best outcome really.

Howe doesn't have to make a decision. Both players unaffected in that regard.

Ramsdale knows he has 6 + games to show his worth, so he's not getting bounced out after 1 or 2 errors.

If Ramsdale is shit then Pope comes back in and won't probably be here after his loan spell.

If not, then Pope is probably gone at the end of the year anyway and we have a decision on Ramadale or Trafford perhaps, where I think the former goes if we go for the latter again. Ramsdale isn't playing second fiddle for years at this stage of his career.

The only bad outcome for us is if he has an absolute stinker ans costs us in numerous games but to be honest, Pope had got that way the last 6 weeks.

Edit. Or if Ramsdale gets injured too......

I can't see Ramsdale being the long term option if we wish to proceed. He could be a long term backup option though if he's happy to have a Harperesque career here. Otherwise it looks likely that he'll continue to be a journeyman keeper. At this stage I reckon we could push to get Trafford in in January if Man City are ok with Ortega as their backup.

I've felt this would be the case & reckon both Pope and Ramsdale go in the summer. Hopefully Ramsdale changes that view over the next few games.

We clearly want Trafford and he rightly appears to be unsettled as a no 2 & we've be known to target the same players over multiple windows.

I'm not 100% convinced by Trafford but the club appear to favour that direction. He's not joining in a world cup year to be second choice though.

He should have several though and won't displace small arms this summer anyway.

If he is available in January, we will find out how ruthless we are going to be as we grow.

they'd push for livramento to go the opposite way at the same time.

Quite possibly, but if they want Tino it’s highly unlikely we can do much about him going anyway. We can probably put them off until the summer (at best).

If Tino goes, I'd say best case scenario is we get our long term goalkeeping target in return. One less transfer saga to have to deal with.

It'll be impossible to blame Tino if he does go as well. He's fucking brilliant, and that lot promise trophies and a huge bump in wages. Just need to make sure we extract maximum value in any fee.

And I don't even want to hear from anyone who think they would stay with us if it was them.

We have, IMO the best full back pairing in the league. And whilst the media wax lyrical about Timber & Califiori, I'm happy for our pairing to remain mainly under the radar.

Hall's deliveries have been nothing short of world class. Best LB I've seen during my time.

I'm not sure how under the radar they're going to be tbh, both should be going into the World Cup squad quite easily. I'm expecting Tino to be the subject of pretty endless speculation for a Man City move as well.

if Reece James stays fit (which is a bigger if than either of our lads) then I'd expect Tino and Hall to be Englands left back options.

agreed. He hasn’t got Tino’s pace to get up and down but he’s quick enough, his delivery is first class and I love how he has a trick to buy a yard and progress the ball out of tight area
