I dunno, it's possible we've asked them to downplay it for now. A courtesy they'd surely give us if we're taking a lowered fee.

I want him to stay, somehow in the whole thing I wish there would be a way back for him, but if this is happening it's better to go through after our game at least otherwise it's all the team are gonna hear.

His first interview, not that I'll watch it, is going to be painful. I'm gonna go for a Michael Owen tribute in terms of his excuses - "If the fans only understood what went on..." etc etc. I sincerely hope he says nothing about us at all tbh.

Isak "optimistic of a move".

I bet he is.

Yes, but his reaction if they don't bid would be fantastic.

If Liverpool do not bid again. I am not sure how people will spin this into NUFC holding the player hostage.

I would even like it if something came out that Liverpool got cold feet after Isak decided to react the way he did.

I would be extremely concerned if I was hoping to employ an exciting new member of staff and then found out that they spat their dummy out and turned on their current employer.

Part of me wonders if Isak would be in the right frame of mind to play even if he did get his 'dream move' to Liverpool.

Something about the way he has handled this full situation will have surely changed his outlook on life, his self-entitlement and his work ethic.

You'd hope so. I couldn't have done this and held my head up afterwards.

Yeah. It’s all quite sad really. He’s only got himself to blame so it’s hard to feel any sympathy, particularly as a Newcastle supporter. But what you just posted reminded me of something a mate of mine said about 3 or 4 weeks ago. He reckoned that if Isak could’ve turned back the clock to the beginning of the summer he’d would’ve done things completely differently. I think that’s probably true. He’s acted so bizarrely and unprofessionally that his doubling down is the easiest option now because, at least until next week, reintegrating, apologising and fronting up to what he’s done is too much while there’s a chance he won’t need to. Whatever happens he’s placed a huge amount of scrutiny and pressure on himself and his performances. Then there’s the complete lack of a pre-season. If the move happens you could really see him struggling to live up to the hype and expectation.

If he does stay, a lot of people say as soon as he scores we will have all forgotten about it  IMO I don't think it's going to be that simple.

If this cunt stays his first goal will probably be the least celebrated goal in the history of the club.

Not just the fans to win over either, is it? If you look at the article about Longstaff I posted it’s apparent they’re a very tightly knit group of players. I think they’ll all feel betrayed by the way he’s gone about things and how that’s probably robbed us of 5 points already. The backroom staff will feel the same you’d think and then there’s the manager most of all

Isak trying sneak in for a medical at the Liverpool training ground but was spotted apparently, one or two onlookers witnessed it. Was meant to be kept quiet.

The murderers will bid lowball and late, hoping we've spent on the basis cash for the rat is coming in, which I don't believe we have btw.

I hope we tell them to fuck off.

If we are going to be honest there are so many factors involved with this for it to be impossible to judge.

Say he apologised a few weeks back and he scored 100th minute winner against Liverpool, hard to not be over the moon and it not impact on how we feel towards him.

He apologised a few weeks ago, played and scored the 3rd to make it 3-0 on 60th minute. The emotions are not the same.

It would be pretty mental for Liverpool not to be in some form of discussion. They need to know how much it would take to buy Isak - even if that’s not what they’ll offer.

Aye, we’ve been knocked back a lot this summer but at least we’ve put in serious bids for players. Liverpool made one joke offer and then nothing more. It’s doesn’t appear that they’re committed to doing business anywhere near as much as Isak is.
