wirtz is a prospect, not a sure thing

A £115 mill "prospect" ?...

He's won the title in Germany, champions league/runners up medal in Europa and played for his country. He's undisputably not a punt, all he has to do is prove he can play in the English premier league. If he's a natural no. 10 that's a massive challenge and a bit of a luxury. We'll see how good a coach Slot is on this single point iyam. Woltemade has played first team football for <12 months and wasn't in Stuggart's CL squad this time last year....

Agreed, and all of which makes Philip Lahm's article so fucking stupid. It's like he's been given the brief to be the German football expert and comment on the two new lads to the PL, and he's come up with the most facile premise for his article.

It would be like Alan Shearer writing an article entitled "Expect goals from Harry Kane at Bayern Munich". It's not exactly expertise.

Btw Shearer would 100% take on that brief and think he was dropping pure science.

I predicted that the sales of extra large caps in Munchen would go through the roof last year when Kompany moved to Germany. My book on global economics comes out in December. The perfect stocking filler.

Yeah, there's not many. My point is Wirtz is further on in his career than Woltemade and terming them both "prospects" doesn't really fit iyam...

there's loads of examples of players who arrived in the PL after smashing it in germany with big price tags who failed to live up to expectations: havertz, sancho, werner, pulisic, marin, kagawa, haller, mkyhitaryan, schweinsteiger etc etc. no guarantees wirtz will be one of those to adjust to the english game.

I dunno like, Targett was fucking class during his loan spell. He could have been sensational had he not got diseased due to failure to clean up his home.

He loves the dippers though, so TBD might not be too happy with it.

The little ginger twat I felt was steering him towards it, baked beans for English food as well, just because you live on chicken nuggets and beans not everyone else does. I hope Nick does well he seems a really nice kid but could sky not have given him a proper reporter to quiz him rather than a YouTube bairn? They send that Vicky Gomersall up to Liverpool regularly to interview klopp, Slot etc wearing her tracksuit bottoms which will be sopping wet such is her obvious stars in her eyes interview with everything and everyone from that club. We get the new YouTube kid to give him something to do plus he'll not refuse or complain having to get the early train up to Noocarsul to do it.

  • 2 weeks later...

You’d have to ask why the club Rummenigge used to play for and still works for wanted to sign Woltemade if he’s that bad. It’s either sour grapes or he’s been reading CT’s posts on here

Aye, ignore the stupid cunt. Did we overpay? Probably. Can Eddie Howe turn Woltemade into a player worth more than that? Yes.

Could Vincent Kompany? Could he fuck. So they've done the right thing not buying the kid.

Aye, clubs like Liverpool, Man U and Bayern Munich think they get to pay what they want and get a bit put out when 'the likes of' us or another club not in their little super league conspiracy say fuck it, go on then we'll pay your price for one of their targets.
