said it in the other thread but the only area where ramsdale looks better to me is his distribution. it's a small sample size but i'd bring pope back in based on what i've seen from ramsdale so far.

That's what I think he will go for.  On the whole that doesn't bother me.  I still think its enough to win.  But for me I would prefer to see Miley in for Joe.  I know Craig said their defence is slow AF but does Elanga have enough in him for his first derby?

I don't think he will start Wissa either, but would like to see him have a decent run out.  Hopefully when we're a goal ahead.

Drop Joelinton and play Woltemade in the centre. 

For me, Joelinton can't play football anymore - he's just turned into a bruiser . I'd be happy to see Woltemade given a rest vs sunderland , if Wissa is fit- but I dont think Eddie will ; because it might affect Nick badly to be dropped for it.

In summary. 

Play Joelinton for this last derby match hoping that he knacks himself and at least 2 sunderland players for a month. Then we can start properly blooding in Ramsey, Miley and Sean Neave.

oh and 3-1 Sunderland because Ramsdale ain't all that either imo.

I am also leaning this way just concerned it limits both Bruno and Tonali a bit and leaves them outnumbered.

Gordon on the left and Elanga on the right have the ability to cause serious humiliation with their pace. Both looked very much improved to me recently.

The game will be won in the centre of the park tbh. We do need to boss the midfield. We will need Joelinton just for his willingness to get involved physically. I would sacrifice either Bruno or Sandro for Miley who has performed really well recently. Bruno has been hit and miss and Tonali looked jaded.

The thing we must not allow them to do is dominate the game and get the ground going. As long as we turn up and match their willingness to win we should be fine.

If you play two up top you normally need more versatile wide men, as in not wingers but side midfielders who are more defensively capable. Not exactly what springs to mind when I think of Gordon or Wissa.
