Soft. For level of players we have, forgetting the half arsed nature of the team fro most of the game, the inability to find a team mate constantly is killing them. They need to be EH fit because they moake twice as much work for themselves.
Can't blame big Nick for the OG, the constantly turning over the ball just outside our own penalty box will ineviably always lead to conceeding goals.

I hate to say it and it may just be the immediate annoyance of it all but I really fear that this is the beginning of the end for Eddie here. We look pretty abject a lot of the time, we’re making the same mistakes every week, Elanga and Ramsey have, up to now, been a complete fucking waste of 90 million quid. The one thing we were good at was the physical side of it all but we were completely outfought today. I’ll probably feel differently in the morning but I’m not seeing a lot of answers to our problems at this current time

I definitely think we should stop buying players from the premier league, there is much better value elsewhere where we bought Bruno, Tonali, Thiaw, Isak etc.

 

I was never particularly impressed by Elanga at Man Utd or Forest and he looks utterly clueless for us. We can surely get 2 or 3 players of that level from other leagues for the price we paid for that fucking donkey.

Tino was way off it today as well. I don't think I've seen a game where he was so bad. I know there's some speculation over his future but it's not the first time we've heard it.

 

I'll wait for Adam Clearys breakdown on it but it won't be pretty. Definitely the stand out worst performance from us this season.

We were worse against Brentford and West Ham. Defensively we were solid today. Literally 1 shot against us in 98minutes. We were just shit everywhere else

Didn't see the game and don't want to, but howay man. There ARE mitigations here. The mackems haven't lost at home all season, have had twice as much rest before the game (and much more cumulatively), and obviously this a more important game for them than us.

 

The season hasn't been great but its not a disaster either. Still in the LC and got a good chance of progressing in the CL. 4 points off 5th place. The new players deserve a longer chance, surely. And who the fuck do you think can take over and do a better job than Howe?

if there's any officials/coaching staff/players associated with nufc that even considers i should be less fucked off at losing that game in the manner we did than a mackem would be had it been the other way round, they can fuck off, immediately and permanently.

I've felt all season this would be a transition season or wasted season just because of how the cards we've been dealt. Hoping I'm wrong and we pick up but we just can't seem to manage three games a week and the bolstered squad doesn't seem too bolstered in practice.

This is clearly the reality of this season IMO. It shouldn't have been the case but it reveals how important getting shit right at the executive level is, because it just fucks everything up if you don't. It's a transitional season because the board were asleep at the wheel for a year.

For me the tactical decision to sit back was a mistake. Elanga and Gordon may be quick but they're far from prolific and have given no indication that they can work well together. It gave them copious amounts of the ball with time on it which built their confidence. Though they did next to nothing with it it still gave them the momentum to eventually mount the slightest bit of pressure which resulted in one of the worst OGs you're likely to see. When we subsequently made some substitutions we instantly looked better and more cohesive. But the damage was done, they were in the lead, full of confidence flying high at home. It was a tall ask to overcome it.

 

I feel like instead of playing to our strengths Howe tried to focus on their weaknesses, despite us not possessing the personnel to take advantage of them. Hindsight is always 20/20 but a player like Woltemade was almost useless for most of the game. They marshalled Tonali well and used fouls effectively to stop us getting any momentum early on. But truth is that whilst they weren't very good we were clearly worse.
