Howmanheyman 43887 Posted Sunday at 17:26 Share Posted Sunday at 17:26 At least my birthday is usually on an international break week so they can't spoil that although I remember a rare birthday game away at Boro where we won 4-1 so do better, Gemm. We played the Carabao final v a Liverpool who'd just played PSG on the Wednesday. The other side of that coin is the virtual anomimity of Elanga and Ramsey who have for the outlay have had zero effect on the season. They have to start affecting games positively. If Howe can't make them count then his coat is on a shoogly peg as some cunts of your aquaintance might say Edited Sunday at 17:36 by PaddockLad
PaddockLad 22470 Posted Sunday at 17:44 Share Posted Sunday at 17:44 Just as an observation but today was a magnificent advert for English football culture. In lots of ways that's why I still go . You can still get what you saw today. Myself and @thebrokendoll went to Birmingham City last season and it was delightfully hostile . That the six fingered sister fuckers performed it is in a way irrelevant. I can say this because I'm 56 and not a Geordie and also 7/8 of the way to being fucking mortal 😅🤪

For me, a large part of this is PSR and the lack of our ability to buy for several transfer windows. or buy the quality which adds depth to the squad. Yes we have better depth now, but the likes of Murphy, Schar etc are older and we need to be adding quality on top of them to progress. I saw about 5 minutes of the first half and Elanga looked decent. But wow, have Forest had our pants down with him. He's been pony. But then again, Murphy hasn't been any better. But then who can you say he's been solid this season?

But Villa, Arsenal and City appear able to balance 3 competitions at a time. Ramsay and Elanga cost us the best part of £100m and haven't improved our starting XI. Elanga was coming off the back of a good season at least, but we'd been linked with Ramsay for a number of windows and I can't see why? Pretty much a like for like replacement for Willock.

Arsenal and City are light years ahead of us, to the point where making the comparison between us and them is crackers. Villa were in a MUCH better spot than us in 2021 when the takeover happened, and have continued to spend since then. Also, Emery hasn't won them a trophy.

Course we wouldn't. So in the end, who gives a fuck that we scored a goal for them to win a game against us. I'm with you mate. Missed the entire game in the Live Theatre, scheduled exactly for the match. Looked at my phone, shrugged, and walked out onto the wonderful quayside with our great river and historic buildings and bridges, not some post industrial shit heap TOWN like Sunderland. Not even being bitter, I simply don't give a fuck about them. They've won their final, watch them fall apart now. We are all that matters to them, we are their entire identity. We are all that matters to them, we are their entire identity. If we win against Fulham this week, we've got results in the two most important games of the week. Of course I'd love us to have beaten them, but fuck it, we'll get them at SJP, and we've won a trophy this year. Their league position over us less than halfway through the season is their trophy.

Rayvin 8351 Posted Sunday at 18:07 Share Posted Sunday at 18:07 I think it's fair to say we were very poor and that this is an ongoing concern mind. That bit does worry me quite apart from the Sunderland element.
