Gemmill 53516
Absolutely shameful that I get to wander into this thread a good 20 minutes after Fish's post on heat pump prices and say "that's quite a range".

I miss proper central heating Expand There's some new builds near mine with what I now see are heat pumps (originally thought they were AC boxes). The things are massive and an eye sore, and it seems like they're not worth the outlay. No way would I get one for this house. I could get a new kitchen for less. wykikitoon 24274
The housing stock in this country is wank to have ground source heat pumps etc. We have leaky houses and it's just another charade. Until we start building decent houses it's a waste.

strawb 4904
We are just about to kick off a decarbonisation trial program on 80 of our properties, including heat pumps. strawb 4904
For us it’s a technology trial, so seeing if the fabric improvements etc we make actually do what they are designed to do.
