  1. Past hour
  2. Have you tried telling him this or bantering with him about it
  3. I agree it's a penalty. There Is enough force. My problem is that he is looking directly at it and he felt there wasn't enough force. It's not like he missed it. VAR basically just made the decision for him. There have been similar cases recently (Morgan Rogers at Forest for example) which they let the ref just make the onfield call rightly, or wrongly.
  4. Same story. Wife and mother in law know what he's like and don't want to hear his shit so I get isolated with him.
  5. Mine is exactly the same. I can take about 2 mins before I zone out then when the conversation stops I just smile awkwardly because I have no idea what my response should be. The grand kids and his kids just magically disperse when he starts a story and I’m left alone in the room with him.
  6. That's what talking to my father-in-law is like. Really long stories about a job he hasn't done for 20 years, and genuinely we'll be 10 minutes into one of these things where he's described in detail the drive to Scotland, the walk from the car to the office, including incidental details about "and if you look right, you can see this other building"... Bit of detail about that building, cos why the fuck wouldn't I want to know about that, and I suddenly have this crisis where I can't remember what we were talking about that made him set off on this fucking odyssey, where this ramble is going to end, and how the fuck I'm supposed to react when it peters out to nothing. It's horrendous. He basically wants to tell me a story about his old job every time I see him, and it doesn't matter whether it's relevant to current conversations, he'll just go "well that's a bit like when I used to work at...." and off we fucking go. They all end with me going "Ah right", and then turning to my wife and the mother in law and trying to get into their conversation. He must think I fucking hate him.
  7. it'll be funny as fuck if "United" win that particular race

It's a fucking ludicrous measurement system. I mean they measure solid ingredients in cups. How the fuck am I supposed to know in advance of buying mushrooms, what a cup of chopped mushrooms looks like. A half a cup of chopped parsley. Like am I squashing the fucker down? Just give me a weight ffs. No wonder they ended voting Trump in twice.
  9. As exciting as The Fish’s race to lose his virginity before he was 30.
  10. so many words and yet never looked like reaching an interesting or amusing conclusion.
  11. Such a tale, it's like listening to a young Peter Ustinov
  12. They were discussing the possibility of Wrexham away next season on there when up pops Keith with this scintillating anecdote:
  13. Picked up some sort of hamstring injury in the last game so that run is about to end.

Have none of you got cup sized measures? Very handy for measuring a cup of gin per drink just to make sure I don’t put too much in.
  16. I bet Eubank was dangerously dehydrated. Failed to make the weight by half an ounce or something. But there didn’t look to be a bit of fat on him at the weigh in. Then there was a clause where he couldn’t weigh more than 170 pounds (or gain another 9.5 lbs) before the fight. I think the fight could’ve still go ahead but Eubank had already been fined a fortune for the former and I think it would’ve been the same again if he’d weighed more than 170.
  17. With Murphy what makes that a stonewall penalty for me is the position of the ball. The ball from Bruno is perfectly into the path of Murphy with noone else anywhere near it. Enciso is wholly behind Murphy and makes a grab for his shoulder with only one possible intention - to slow Murphy down. It's a foul, as clear as they come ("holds an opponent", "impedes an opponent with contact") there's no arguement that any contact from Enciso could be legal. IMO the ref should have called it but as others have pointed out he didn't because of the VAR safety blanket. Thankfully here the safety blanket worked, but it shouldn't have been needed with a competent ref.
  18. guess who had no success in the chelsea resale
  19. Nah, Everglades is a bit out of the city so not great for staggering back to at the end of the evening. I was in it for lunch a few months ago and was really good.
  20. So eubank was admitted to hospital as is protocol after a tough fight. So why wasn't Benn?
