I don’t disagree which is why I treat it more as a standalone event. It’s never happened in our lifetime and even if we win it next year, I’m pretty sure most of us will stay dry eyed. Where as how our league season plays out, significantly impacts the clubs upward journey. I will be overjoyed we’ve won a cup, but gutted if we miss out and stagnate while the likes of Villa and Forrest overtake us.
