  1. Past hour
  2. if thats the case then you're right. a non-starter. good as he is we won't be paying 150m. i was shocked we paid 100m for jack. Guess our interest would come down to the release clause. City do like a release clause. I read somewhere that Newcastle might be willing to listen from 80m. but thats probably bollocks. ps i have no real opinion but its probably better to balance the "we can get him" noise, with the toontastic "no chance" noise.
  3. So, essentially every slasher movie ever?
  4. Just came across this, we know some of his failings but you'd have him over the likes of JRM, Johnson, Truss etc talking to foreign power any day and every day. How enough influential people with knowledge couldn't batter down the MSM and the RW rags around 2016 with a bit of bluntness and facts is our big loss. UK was massively let down and there's people in govt who knew it would be a shit sarnie who should be in front of a judge. The least said about the likes of Farage the better. They should be in the fucking tower.
  5. I’d love Paqueta in our team btw. If we signed Mbeumo (who could probably do a job as the third striker as well as winger) and him whilst picking up a couple of new defenders on the cheap (eg Tobin and Kelly) - then we’d be in with a top 4 finish.
  6. Yeah, like Gloomy says, to sell to a domestic opponent we'd need enough money to replace him (either directly or in the aggregate), enough money to ensure we don't look like soft touches and enough money to placate the fans. Bruno isn't just our best player, he's a symbol of the new Newcastle, he's adored by the fans, and by extension the owners and execs get credit for him. Sell him to a PL club and all that disappears.
  7. NFC is what they label patients at the Freeman who come from that part of the world (Normal for Cumbria/Carlisle).
  8. IMO, at least £150m apparently the £100m release clause can only be activated by foreign teams already in the champions league and the fee has to be paid up front. So realistically, you’re talking PSG Real, or a Saudi club, which seems less likely given he’s at the peak of his powers. It would take an astronomical bid from an English club so it’s probably a nonstarter for Man City.
  9. I think I heard on the news that the criminal damage bit relates to the damage caused to Hadrian’s Wall when they felled the tree.
  10. think jack read your post. against forest he stayed on his feet and made the defender disappear magic jack
  11. Supposedly Man City are looking at both Bruno (to replace phillips) and Paqueta (to replace bernado) Tolmie is usually a decent source for City targets ... https://twitter.com/RealTolmie/status/1785354577744691250 Obviously I have no idea if there is any substance to it. Maybe you guys do. My question is, IF Newcastle were inclined to sell Bruno to City, what would it take? oh and please don't shoot the messenger, i know what it's like we've had bernado to barca every summer. just like we had david silva and aguero to real madrid every summer (they stayed so maybe bruno will too)
  12. Aye the tory one mentioned the word Conservative once. No logo on the page. Just a blue background.
  13. I got the candidate literature through for the combined authorities mayoral election. They each get the chance to submit a statement of what they’re about, policies etc. The Reform Party candidate didn’t even bother doing one. I’ve also noticed none of the Tory stuff I’ve seen ahead of the local elections has any party branding on whatsoever. Why would you even bother standing for a party whilst acknowledging the association with them is poison to most voters?
  14. You don’t need to have been an ex-footballer though to see that the challenge above was a penalty. The problem is that there appears to be a very small pool of referees to chose from and why would anyone actually want to be a referee? Most of the time you’re working for no or little money and even if you make it to the professional ranks the money isn’t life changing. The main motivation to me seems to be the same as becoming a bouncer, just having a little bit of control over other people makes them feel like they are someone.
  15. Aye. You see it with my eldest playing junior football. You do actually get sone young kids who are decent but you also get ones who are little knobs getting their own back. It’s adults too but at that level / age group you get a lot of kids who are still at school. I actually think the oddest ones are when they clearly have zero interest in being there beyond getting their expenses
  16. Today
  17. Imagine the type of nob who knows as a kid they want to be a referee rather than try to be an actual footballer.
  18. I’m guessing they did it because they are thick inbred cunts.
  19. Aye and you probably need to be already dedicated to becoming a ref when you would otherwise be playing junior football if you ever hope to make it as a PL-level official. It takes that long to progress through the ranks
  20. The main problem with VAR is that referees are massive nerds, who never played the game themselves even as kids. So they know the “laws” of the game but don’t know what is and isn’t a foul.
  21. Why are the mighty Sunlun not in this conversation, is it because they so far out of sight at the top of the league ??
  22. Southampton are guaranteed 4th though. They can't do better and they can't be caught. In those circumstances, and with playoffs coming up, Leeds should absolutely howk them.
  23. I am still confused as fuck. Why they did it.
  24. Good player and would play well for Eddie, but the money rules him out. He's not going to take a 50% pay cut.
